I saw your uncle served his county. I'm not sure which war he was in, but I'm trying to find the guy this might belong to:

Thank you very much for the prompt response. I don't feel any particular need to own the memorial page, the work you've done has led to an incredible breakthrough in our understanding of this branch of our family. I'm very grateful for it.

Mary Catherine Bensyl Trickel
I have now seen Catherine referred to as Mary Catherine out on RootsWeb, FYI.

RE: Rosa Trickel
Yes, I see that now on Ancestry. Have you seen the actual document? Could be human error either at the original level or at the transcription level. Very possibly, also, she could be Mary Catherine and go by Catherine, although I haven't seen that in this particular case for her. I have seen a Family Data Collection that lists Andrew Jackson Trickel's parents as Robert Trickel and Catherine Bensyl.

RE: Rosa Trickel
Sure, I have lots on Joshua. First, he is born around 1833 in Illinois and is the son of Robert and Catherine Trickel. He can be found in the 1850 Census in Clarno, 1860 Census in California, 1870 Census in Monroe, 1880 Census in Monroe, 1900 Census in King County, Washington, where he dies in 1909, according to Washington Death Records, which correctly list his parents. He is married twice, first to Rosa McIntire, who dies in 1877, then to Louisa Alice Streiff in 1879.
The child that he and Rosa have together is Lotta Eva Trickel (different from the other 2 Charlotte Trickels I know of) who goes on to marry Albert B. Greenwald in 1894. Let me know if you want to know more.

RE: Rosa Trickel
OK, I'll do some more research. In the meanwhile, FYI, Rosa was married to Joshua (not Andrew Jackson) Trickel for a brief time before she died. They did have at least one child together, born around 1873. Joshua went on to marry again and eventually went to the state of Washington where he died. Andrew Jackson Trickel and Joshua Trickel were brothers.

RE: Rosa Trickel
Hi, Nancee, I was just interested because I took the photo of Rosa's stone and the dates are off from what is stated on the memorial. One would think that the stone's dates would be pretty accurate. Unless you think that the photo of the stone is on the wrong memorial, in which case, I could delete the photo. Thanks for all you do. WendyT
