"The one absolutely unselfish friend that man can have in this selfish world, the one that never deserts him, the one that never proves ungrateful or treacherous is his dog...When all other friends desert, he remains. When riches take wings, and reputation falls to pieces, he is as constant in his love as the sun in its journey through the heavens." - George Graham Vest

RE: William Soltwisch
The connection for me is on my husbands line. William F's son Harry is married to Alice Hillenbrand. her sister is my husband's grandmother.
Let me know if you ever make the connection.

I have removed the photo. Are the two William's related?

RE: FAQs
Okay thanks -- I had seen that format uploaded elsewhere and didn't realize it was a problem. I haven't uploaded photos to Sacred Heart New, but there is a default photo that is added to my entries.

Edits declined for Sacred Heart New Cemetery
Hello,

I'm wondering why my edits I put under the marker transcriptions section have been declined (as I believe these are put in the correct data field)? Thanks.

RE: Gracie Turner
Thank you.....I checked it out. Not that I didn't believe you, I have just had a lot of harassment from a local person and her friends that I have had to deal with.

Thanks so much for finding the additional info!

RE: Mystery Solved
Quite an interesting family. Clara J Doane, and Alden J were married in 1881, and she died soon after their son Alden G was born in 1886. She died in Boston, but is buried in Chatham (here on Cape Cod). Mother and son are buried together in her hometown; the father is with wife #2 in his town of origin. Alden J's own father was lost at sea in 1861 (lots of "Outer Cape" men met that fate). I've sent edits to various memorial creators about the marriages, birth and death dates, connections, etc. A lot of Cape Codders moved "off-Cape", as we call it, in the late 1800s to seek their fortunes, and ended up all over the place... but they all seem to end up buried here, my own ancestors included. I'm honored to have learned a bit about their stories, and will visit the Freemans in Truro again soon.

RE: Mystery Solved
I'm doing a little poking around Alden G. Freeman. He died in 1926, and was born around 1887, but guess where his body/ashes were likely sent to? There's an Alden Gove Freeman buried here on the Cape. I think he was Alden J's son. Found an 1886 MA VR for his birth - did Alden J have a wife named Clara Doane from Chatham, MA? http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=64107945&ref=acom
