Cemeteries are truly meaningful, not because there was death, but because there was LIFE!|
And I do believe that nobody should be forgotten.
I've been working on our family tree, and that's what brought me to this site.
I enjoy perserving my family history as well as helping others with their own, if possible.
If you have any additions or corrections, email me and I will get to it as soon as possible.
I am always happy to find other family members, also cousins no matter how distant.
My family members' and friends' interments are in the "virtual cemeteries" to the right. If you have a moment and would like to leave them some flowers, it would be most appreciated.

I am a descendant of George W. Harkins, just learned this and I see that you have posted on some other family pages. Just wanted to say hello, I am just starting on my family tree
Sorry to pester you. It isn't Ebenezer who I think was a brother or cousin to my 3ggg, it's his father Jarvis Thompson. I haven't looked at Ebenezer for a couple years, and got confused. Any info on the parentage or siblings of Jarvis?

Assuming you're related to Gladys, thought you might like this:
Amenia Times, Amenia, New York, 14 May 1888:
A daughter is born to E. Thompson at the Pratt House. Weight 10 pounds
The Pratt House was a large hotel in the middle of Amenia. The Thompsons lived there for a while. I'm sure I have a postcard of it someplace if you'd like a picture of it. It was later called the DeLaVergne Hotel, and wasn't torn down until sometime in the later 20th century.

I see you sent a correction to me to link Anna with her husband Ebenezer Thompson. Can I ask if you're related to them? I think Ebenezer is the brother or cousin of my 3rd great grandfather, but I have never been able to make the connection. Just wondering if by any chance you might have any information about Ebenezer's siblings or parents

You're welcome. If there are other Lauffers at Woodlawn that you need photos for, let me know....I'm only about a 15 minute ride from there.

Thanks for catching my error on Alford.

I take it you received the requests I fulfilled for you recently. As for Frank Helsel, it may be a bit until I can fulfill that one. His burial location, Benshoff Hill, is on top of a mountain and right now, most of the headstones are buried under snow.
Today, besides the high of 9 degrees and blowing wind/snow, it would take a 4-wheel drive just to get to the top of the cemetery. Once the weather cooperates I'll get a photo for you. I just want to make sure it's the best quality possible despite the time of year.
Thank you for the updates.

You are welcome! Thanks for letting me know I have helped get another soldier back to his family. In these acres of Forest Park where I expect to be planted with family one day, I find I can be most helpful by walking some section with my phone. We concentrated on the military field to snap our way down the parade walk and work through the photos at home to add to or create memorials. There are so many uncles, brothers and cousins who have never been listed. ---Mildred
