I've been researching my Brinegar and Riley roots since 1999. I've traveled to Alleghany County, North Carolina and several counties in West Virginia and Maryland documenting cemeteries and historical documents from genealogy libraries and court records.|
Other family names I research: Cosner, Reel, Reall, Kitzmiller, Hawk, Riggs, Joines, Caudill, Hoppers, Osborne, Pruitt, Blevins, Wagoner, Crouse, Holloway, Billings, Turner, Reynolds, McCloud, Smoot, and Foster.

The Alleghany County Cemetery Book published in 1986 list this cemetery as 'Brooks' #019 and not
'Perry-Brooks'. Did you create this cemetery? If so, please correct and I will take out my duplicates. Also, the location description is State Road 1426, top of hill, 1 mile from Kenneth Hudson, toward Zion. Since then the 911 address is off Chestnut Grove Road on Cedarbrook Lane. Please help me straighten this out.

Glad to be able to help you out Chris and I have a couple more Brinegar photos to post, probably tomorrow.

|Rita Osborne||Memorial# 144988650|
Memorial# 144988650 is Not the dup the other memorial is as it is in the wrong cemetery
|Gary McMillan||RE: Martin and Margaret Brinegar|
According to the Ashe County Cemetery Records compiled by Russell Hamilton, Calvin & Margaret Pennington Brinegar are buried at that cemetery. Address: On the South side of Old Field Creek Road, SR-1539, at Low Notch Road, SR-1537, 400' from the road, chain link fenced and well kept.
This is where I got the information. Chet & I have worked together on the cemeteries. There is notation of a unmarked grave. Chet is visiting every cemetery he can find. They are still listed
in that cemetery. There are many that were buried without a marker or tombstone. I know this does not help but the records have been good thus far but some have been posted in the wrong cemetery by those who surveyed the cemetery the first time, Chet has 240 cemeteries to visit and we can see what the results are.

You asked if Jimmie Brinegar is somehow related to Woodrow and Sarah Blanchard. I don't know why he is buried with them. The only thing I could find is that Sarah Blanchard signed Jimmie Brinegar's marriage certificate (Washington State Digital Archives website). The name Brinegar is not mentioned in Sarah's obituary. I could not find an obit for Woodrow Blanchard or Jimmie Brinegar.
