You're welcome, Roy. Very glad to help.
|Bill Bloom||David F. Paden, Sr. Lawn Croft|
Hello Roy. I posted the photo of David's marker. The cemetery records show that his wife bought graves 3 and 4 in section B, lot 149, unit C, but she is not buried with him. Grave 4 is empty. Social Security death index shows Catherine as being born 25 Nov 1906 in Penna., but last benefit was paid to her May, 1993, in Alabama. I hope this helps. Coincidentally, my relatives are buried in the same lot - great-grandparents (Hostetler), grandparents (Bloom/Hostetler) and aunt/uncle (Stewart/Hostetler). I don't believe there is any connection.

You are very welcome for the photos. We were hoping that by taking photos in some of the cemeteries around us we could help someone find family members. Glad we could help.

I did not have Laura as a spouse for George. The person who added Laura's memorial got it wrong. So, you will have to contact Lisa Vivrito not me.

Sorry about that. It was just a typo. I have fixed it. Thanks for letting me know.

Hello Roy! You're very welcome! I'm not related, but was just looking for any stray mentions of my boyfriend's family, who lived in Reading since the 1880s or so. Since a lot of people don't have access to/use newspapers, when I find an obituary, I check to see if there's already a memorial created. Believe it or not, its a stress reliever!
If you're interested, you can get a subscription to the website on its own - I want to say it was $35 for the year? There's a free 7-day trial (I forgot to cancel before it was up) that you can try out first. The site has been invaluable for me in Reading research - the Reading Times is available from 1859-1939.
Also, is this your Hannah (Bowman) Fair: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=37989390? Here's a clipping of her obituary too: http://www.newspapers.com/clip/1918654/reading_times/
Have a great day!

Hello Roy - I hope you're well!
I was doing my own genealogy research on Newspapers.com and stumbled on Mary Ann Bowman's obituary in the Reading Times. Since you wrote that she was your 2nd Great-Grandmother on her memorial page, I wanted to check: Do you have a copy of that obituary?
If not, here's a clipping: http://www.newspapers.com/clip/1914572/reading_times/
Have a great day!

Just wanted to let you know that "Oakwood" is a very common transcription error in the Illinois Death Index for "Oakland" cemetery. I see it all the time, and it's very confusing because there is actually an Oakwood cemetery just a few miles away in the next county over. Eliza and her sons are buried in Oakland, which is actually quite close to the house they lived in here in Carbondale. Do you know where her husband John Wahl or daughter Estelle Frasier are buried? I'm guessing Estelle is buried in Canada.
