I am currently living in Houston County, GA having moved here from Denver, CO in 2010 after my husband passed away. My grandmother was the person who got me into the genealogy and it's just escalated over the years.
When I moved here, there was very little documented on the cemetery my husband was buried at in Kathleen, GA. That was my first attempt at surveying cemeteries and I've been hooked ever since. I was residing in Crawford County, GA for about six months and fell in love with the church cemeteries and the family cemeteries. I have since became Co-Coordinator for Crawford County with usgenweb and enjoy researching the individuals within the cemeteries. I also am Assistant Coordinator with two Florida Counties also through usgenweb. I'm addicted. What can I say?
I've met some great people through genealogy and working on cemeteries and look forward to meeting more.
If anyone has any information they would like to post on our county site, we'd love to hear from you. My email is email@example.com.
May 2014 MY computer has been down for several months so my apologies if you sent a request and it wasn't taken care of. Nancy and RUssell Jones have been helping to get the corrections made for. OLD BENEVOLENCE BAPTIST CHURCH CEMETERY You have some graves listed in the Benevolence Cemetery that should be listed in the old Benelovence Cemetery. They are: Little Chylon McCarty, Walter M. Carr, Charlie Chrisp Carr, Willie Clark Carr, Little Cecil Carr, L. A. McCarty, Carrie F. Clark McCarty, Hattie E. McCarty, Jackson J. Clark, Mary Ann Clark, Father John W. Price, William Crouch, Mary Crouch and H. P. Harris. I have entered these into Old Benevolence but is you will enter yours, then I will delete mine. Lets work together for the accuracy of this good web site we all care about. Thanks for the work you do.
Terry Alan Rigdon #59043402 Please remove WILDER from Terry Allan Rigdons Find A Grave spot. He never was and is not a Wilder. His wife, Linda Wilder Rigdon had him buried in their Wilder family plot. If you will look at his slab it clearly states TERRY ALAN RIGDON, BELOVED HUSBAND AND DADDY. His wife and daughters would appreciate having this corrected. Thanks
You have the name as "Sammie Carr" but the photo of the tombstone gives name as "Simmie Carr" which is correct.
The full name of the person...."Simmazinnia Jeffersonia Carr"....born 8 Jan 1858 and died 12 Aug 1926. She is the spinster sibling of George Washington Perry Carr ....."Wash Carr" who is buried in the same cemetery.
Their parents: Perry Cook Carr (1814-1862) and Mary Ann (Ingram) Carr (1824-1895)
