Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born in Atchison, Kansas, where Amelia Earhart was also born. I currently teach computer science courses at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois, but worked 11 years as a professional programmer in Kansas City, Missouri, before that. My family and roots are all in the KCMO area, though, so I make it back there often.

I love to do a lot of things but genealogy and classical music are among my favorite pasttimes. I am currently researching all of my lines but am at a standstill with my Decker line. I am trying to find the parents of my second great grandfather Benjamin G. Decker, Sr. Other lines that I have are Allen, Lemley, Dege, Russell, Klopp, Katterman, Dundore, Walborn, and many others. Please feel free to message me if you have any suggestions or questions.

I enjoy the work of the conductors Herbert von Karajan, Carlos Kleiber, Karl Böhm, Eugen Jochum, and many others. I especially love Mozart, Brahms, Beethoven, Bruckner, Mahler, Wagner, and Richard Strauss, just to name a few.

RE: Lucky Lytch
Thank you Mr. Decker. I hope that I didn't duplicate yours. It may have been removed, I hope, because yours is much better. Yes, Larry tells me that his grand parents were the best. He misses them very much. I just linked the father to Seth on here. Finally found him. Took some doing as his name was changed from Lytchliter to Lytch when he moved from Iowa, I believe. Fascinating family history. Thanks, Geoffrey.

Never mind on the removal of a photo. It is 2:30am and guess I'm tired...didn't see cremated note.

Find A Grave Memorial# 22670505
Please remove one of the photos so someone can post the headstone photo. There is only room for so many photos and one should be the headstone.

RE: I'm confused
Hi Cousin!

I'm confused too --- but I think the guidelines suggest keeping the oldest memorials.

Why don't I transfer any of your family that you wish to have? I go through Johan & Margaret to John Miesse & Catherine Kline, so we're pretty good after the first generation. It would be easiest if you could please use the Edit tab to make the requests.

The same works in reverse. Please let me know if any of mine are newer than yours.

Hoping this method doesn't put too much work on your end! I'm under some deadlines, so if you'd rather wait until March, happy to take a closer look at the conflicts.

Claudio Abbado
Hello Geoffrey, your memorial for him is a duplicate. I have preceded you. Among other things, his burial place will not be the St. Stephen's Basilica.

Best Regards

Hi. Your memorial is a duplicate of the Find A Grave Memorial# 123778534. Please, remove it. It is a good rule to check if there is already a memorial before adding it. Regards.

I thought maybe she was buried without a marker.

Thressa Decker Grave
I just wanted to let you know that I was out to the cemetery today and could not find Thressa's grave. Two of us walked all around that area. I found her parents' markers, but not hers.

Johann Peter Klopp, Sr.

Thank you for the wonderful bio you posted on his memorial. He is my direct 6g grandfather on my mother's side. Years ago, I had his German will translated. He didn't exactly leave the settlement at the Ephrata Cloisters. As a married man, he chose to live with his wife and those of his children that were with him on a farm he purchased a few miles from the Cloisters. Therefore, he was what was called a 'Householder' by the Cloister Brethren. His death as "old Brother Klopp" was recorded in their records. There is mention of two of the Cloister brethren in his will and he left the Cloister Community money with a stipulation that his heirs were not to protest that bequest. Through his daughters, he has many descendents in Lancaster County, PA. My mother was from Lebanon County, PA. and traced her line from John Peter Sr. > John Peter Jr. > Peter III > Joseph > Ephraim > Nathaniel > Paul > Grace, my mom. Johannn Peter Klopp was a truly remarkable man, you've honored him well. If you haven't visited the Ephrata Cloisters, you might put it on your 'bucket list.' It has been restored and is a lovely place, very serene and uplifting, a haven of peace in this hectic world. Thanks again,
