Virginia and I recently (2015) celebrated our 55th wedding anniversary. My family roots include Hobson (of course), Garrison, Vandruff, Goff, and so many others too numerous to mention. The family tree has been my form of recreation for over thirty years, and I continue to seek and find connected families. I collect obituaries, headstone photos, old family photos, published biographies, engagement and wedding announcements for those in my family tree, and am always looking for more. I'm very grateful to those who post information without hoping for financial gain. I usually post memorials here when there is an obituary to use as a biographical paragraph. My own collected research is available for the asking.|

Thank you for the information about the Nebraska marriage. Nebraska records are not as generously available online as those from Ohio and Illinois.
Mary Irving Armstrong, my fatherís grandmother Painter came to the U.S. with her parents and siblings in 1870 and settled in Illinois. During the 1880s, much of her family moved on to Nebraska. She corresponded with them until her death in the 1950s, but they were strangers to her own children and grandchildren.
Congratulations on your emerald anniversary.

By the way, I was at Enon Cemetery and looked for your requested Everly Allum but couldn't find him. The caretaker for that cemetery is a friend of mine so I stopped in to visit him on my way home. He got out his map and showed me exactly where Everly is buried but he said he doesn't even remember that name on a headstone. I will try to get there again soon now that I know exactly where to look.

Thank you for your recent edit to the name for Jeremiah Gomer Highfill! There has been confusion regarding his name for several years. As you can see, the obit says J. J. Highfill, and that may be how the rumor got started. It was supposed to be J. G. Highfill, but the typesetter misread the obituary handwriting or something. The J. J. error gave rise to the rumor that Jeremiah's middle name was Joseph, which must have been a guess by someone.
I noticed Jeremiah's middle name is listed in the biography (before his obit) as Joseph. Could you please change it to Gomer so it will match the J. G. on his gravestone and Jermemiah's known middle name.
Thanks so much!

THE one posted is all there is if you look close to the stone you can see that what is around the stone is dirt and it is cracking from the lack of water. If you need me to check again I will though that is what I see.

You are welcome. I think Okey's parents are buried there at Lowman also, but have not come across any markers. So many of the funeral home markers are not readable anymore. I will sure let you know if I find anything.

Sure, you can use the 'photo'! I haven't been reprimanded for using it, so I'm sure it is ok. By that I mean, using a stock photo in place of an actual one. sometimes people can be very picky and strict on this site. I find it helpful to know if someone doesn't have a gravestone, to save another person's time trying to find one that doesn't exist! Thank you for asking!

I have been trying to locate graves for John and Rachel Wright when I found your reference note on the memorial for Sarah J. Wright Goff and wanted to know if you have researched further on her parents.
Note: Sarah J. Wright Goff was the daughter of John Wright and Rachel (Unknown).
My family records show Rachel Garrison was her mother. I have found some additional records for Rachel's parents - Stephen Garrison and Elizabeth Ayers Garrison (graves located in Salem Cty, NJ - Olivet Cemetery) and further back to Jacob Garrison and Christina Cresson.
I'm looking forward to review your site and hope to hear from you soon.
