I started researching my genealogy in 1980 and got hooked. I took classes, and was taught by the best. The rest is history! I enjoy and feel such peace wandering through cemeteries. I have a lot of information. I hope it will help to make it easier for those of you that are researching. Please feel free to submit any corrections to me that I may make in error.I, like so many others, found this sight by accident. Find A Grave has been my source of comfort from so many caring and loving people. I would like to thank everyone that has visited and left flowers and a note for my family, it has truly brought such comfort to me. I have read about a lot of wonderful people and hope that I too have brought comfort to there family as well.
I would like to honor and give thanks to everyone that goes from cemetery to cemetery and or transcribes cemetery records, graves and/or takes pictures. Your hard work and generosity does not in any way go unnoticed to anyone researching. You are truly angels on earth to the ones searching for a loved one or ancestor's burial place.I have found some of my family that I would have never known if it were not for the ones that transcribe...Thank you all! Keep up the good work! God Bless To Everyone!

I want to thank everyone that visits my family and leaves tokens and notes. Sometimes, I get so overwhelmed and behind on my Thank You's, but please know that they do not go unnoticed. From the bottom of my heart & soul I am touched with each one. Love To All & God Bless!

I have been a very generous person when it comes to sharing my family history and my photo's. I have noticed as well as others have brought it to my attention, that there are a few people that will copy the photo's and/or stories and post as if they had contributed them rather than give the person credit from where they got it!This includes duplicating memorials as well as adding to their trees on is common courtesy to ask permission to use a photo from the owner or original contributor,Although I do not expect anyone to ask me for permission, just give me or the person credit for their work!!!!!
I agree with another member's profile:

I think it is a real shame what find A Grave has evolved into. What started as a noble way to link people with graves of loved ones they could never hope to see, and with the generations that had preceded them, has turned into a game for some. Memorials have turned into a kind of "trading card", a competition of who can own the most memorials and post the highest numbers. What has been forgotten by many is that these were people, loved in life and death, not a commodity to be traded or owned.
With my apologies to those that have pure motives. I hope there are more of us than there are of them.

Hi, Thank you so much for putting the picture of Elizabeth & Robert. I am kin to Robert through my COFFMAN family line. My Mother was a Coffman.
Do you mind if I use the picture on my tree?

Hello - I see that you have Ida henry buried at Elm Grove cemetery in Van Zandt County Texas. I am trying to find any information on her mother Matilda Caroline Tapley Molloy Brewer. It shows on the 1900 census that she was living with Ida. This would be my husband's great grandmother. Any information as to where she may be buried would be appreciated.

Thank you

S. Margaret Kincaid Bethurum
Hi Linda Joyce, So nice to get you note & to see Sarah Margaret “Peggy” Kincaid connected to her parents. Thank you.

I’m afraid I am not a Bethurum but am rather in the Kincaid line. You & I would be connected through Margaret’s parents, James & Sarah Kincaid as I descend through Margaret’s brother John Kincaid (1791-1873). John made his home in Danville, KY, was an attny, a judge, & also served in the US Congress. He later moved to Sumner Co., TN, with his daughter & son-in-law. My grandmother was born in that house (her grandparents' home) in 1883.

I love Texas and have maternal & paternal cousins in the Dallas & Victoria areas as well as all over the Texas. What a great state! Your work on the Bethurums will be cherished by your family near & distant for years to come. I am in Kentucky & we have Bethurums here as well. I will look further at connections when I find some spare moments.

Meanwhile, thank you again and best wishes, Ann P.

Janie Anna Copprell Mangum
I believe "Aunt" Janie was actually related to my paternal Grandmother Bessie Cowen Smith through her (Bessie's) mother Sarah Elizabeth Copperell Cowen! We grandkids just always called her "Aunt Janie" and I remember her well from when she lived here in Dallas and did Mamaw Bessie's hair and "ran around" with her, while I "tagged-along" in the car backseat enjoying Janie's "dirty" jokes and such! Thanks for maintaining her memorial!

This was my Grandmother and still is my very best friend in my heart. I think you probably understand what I mean. I want to thank you for leaving flowers on her memorial. The picture Cousin Ann posted there my Mother Rose Smith had made at Olin Mills Studios here in Dallas (TX.). I can remember when "Mamaw" Bessie's sister Lydia ("Liddie") made the dress she wears in this picture and who made the necklace she wears as well. I am Bessie's youngest son Quincy Joe's son Michael Smith. Thanks again for your interest and caring!

Leila Mae Stacey Armstrong
Hi thanks for the edits. I made them as you requested. However, regarding the middle name you have as "Mable". I did some more research because of the death record I found that names her Leila Mae Armstrong, I also found three (3) official birth record indexes of 3 of her and Robert's children that all name her middle name as "Mae". Please see records below.

Therefore even though she may have been called "Mable" based on your info you gave me, I am going to go with what all the official documents that I found have stated. I will note however in the memorial that you provided me with the name "Mable" as what she may have been called.

Texas, Birth Index
Name: Martha Julia Armstrong
Event Type: Birth
Event Date: 12 Aug 1938
Event Place: Dallas, Texas
Gender: Female
Father's Name: Robert Claire Armstrong
Mother's Name: Leila Mae Stacey

Texas, Birth Index
Name: Johnnie Clayton Armstrong
Event Type: Birth
Event Date: 29 May 1941
Event Place: Dallas, Texas
Gender: Male
Father's Name: Rober Clair Armstrong
Mother's Name: Leila Mae Stacy

Texas, Birth Index
Name: Robert Lawrence Armstrong
Event Type: Birth
Event Date: 18 Sep 1939
Event Place: Dallas, Texas
Gender: Male
Father's Name: Robert Clare Armstrong
Mother's Name: Lila Mae Stacy

Jimmie Armstrong and Robert C Armstrong
Hi, thanks for contacting me. I've posted photos of the grave marker that show Robert and Jimmie Armstrong share a marker. You mentioned that Jimmie is actually Robert's son James Robert Armstrong and that I should delete Jimmie's memorial because there is already a memorial for James. However, these are two different people. The dates are different and they both have separate gravestones in different sections of the cemetery. The Jimmie I have posted is buried with Robert C Armstrong and it does appear to be his wife. I also noticed you have linked another spouse to Robert, Leila Mable Stacey Armstrong. Interestingly the dates you have for her are very similar to Jimmie's dates. You have Leila born Jan 20,1915 Jimmie is shown born Jan 19,1917. You have Leila's death as Nov 26, 1988. Jimmie's death is Nov 27, 1988. It's possible that this is the same spouse and that Leila's nickname is "Jimmie"

I also find a death record that matches your dates for a Leila Mae Armstrong (Not Leila Mable) who died in Dallas on Nov 26, 1988. She is also listed as Leila M. Armstrong with same dates as you have.

If the Jimmie Armstrong is in fact Leila Armstrong then if you would be so kind as to delete your memorial for Leila I will change the name on Jimmie's memorial and list Jimmie as her nickname. Since my memorial was the earlier memorial and does reflect what is on the gravestone as can be seen in the photo.

In addition I don't know if this is the same couple or not but, I find a birth record for Brigette Sheree Armstrong born 1958 in Dallas, TX who's parents are Robert C. Armstrong and Jimmie Lee Walker.
