Thank you for the reply Vicki. If I figure out where it's located, I'll let you know. I know a guy who has a keen interest in the local cemeteries. He may be able to help, and I'll also check the JCHS.

Hi Vicki - I noticed your cemetery photo for the Edwards - Smith Cemetery, and I wonder if you could tell me where it is located. From an old obituary, it is described as "a short distance northeast of Ava". I've lived in Ava for over 50 years, and I can't place where it is located.

I know of one person who married in the family. For privacy reasons I won't go any further than that. I graduated from GCHS with on of the descendents but that was so long ago I can't believe it and also do not want to admit it.

You are very welcome. I am not family I was looking for another Dimitroff in Madison Co. and found this memorial. I am originally from Granite City and have been to St. Johns many times and have some family and some friends family buried there.

Ran into this while working on my new Hardy family tree, "The Hardy Ones". I always try to stop and provide extra info I have when possible.

I would include it. If nothing else, I would love a copy of the death certificate. His sister was my husbands grandmother. I do have a picture of Charles, but he is a child. If you prefer not to post it and wish to send me a copy, you can send it to me at DML14@cornell.edu. I always get excited with I have pieces of our past history to put together. thank you in advance.

You're welcome! Is this a memorial you'd like to have in your care? I'd be happy to transfer. Have a good day!

You're very welcome and happy hunting!
There is a photograph of James McCauley in the Hay-Ott collection at the Bradford County Historical Society in Towanda, PA. I think you'll find these photos are amazingly pristine.
