Bio

In the early days my familiy were primarily farmers, but they also represented nearly every other walk of life following the expansion of the frontier and participating in many of the events large and small which shaped our country.

Genealogy, learning about my family and my family tree, has become a passion for me. Their stories fascinate me! I love exchanging information with family and anyone else who has an interest in learning more about their ancestors.

Sharing an English and Irish Heritage dating back to the Plantagenet Kings I am the family historian and record keeper, ancestor hunter, genealogy enthusiast and searcher of all things seen and unseen since 1990. The information provided on the Find-A-Grave site continues to be very helpful to me. I like being able to track down where family members are buried, putting a finishing touch to their stories. I enjoy writing about as many of their lives as I can. I am still learning more about the people who came before me.

Thought for the day!
If you're waiting for your chance to win the lottery, take a look at some of these headstones where the person lived a few decades, a few years, a few months or even just a few hours and then you'll realize you're already the big winner.

The life of the dead is placed in the memory of the living. Marcus Tullius Cicero

This is not only one man-he is the father of those who shall be fathers in their turns; In him the start of populous states and rich republics; of him countless immortal lives, with countless embodiment's and enjoyments.
How do you know who shall come from the offspring of his offspring through the centuries? Who might you find you have come from yourself, if you could trace back through the centuries?
Walt Whitman Leaves of Grass

Death is nothing at all. It does not count. I have only slipped away into the next room. Nothing has happened. Everything remains exactly as it was. I am I, and you are you, and the old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged. Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Call me by my old familiar name. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference into your tone. Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without an effort, without the ghost of a shadow upon it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same that it ever was. There is absolute and unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner. All is well.
