Because of fires, floods and loss, I started photographing all the markers in Jackson Co Michigan in Nov 2006. We've discovered the 1927 DAR WPA cemetery transcription project didn't have anyone actually walk any of the county cemeteries. They obtained the information from cemetery records, church records and neighbors. Fortunately for all of us this included records of those graves with no markers. Most of the early cemetery records have perished along with some of the cemeteries. Hopefully, we will be able to provide info for descendants of the early/current residents of Jackson County Michigan. By using census, marriage, death and local history information we try to make our entries as complete as possible. Email with info on your ancestors and we'll add them to any of our records. We'll be happy to help you in your search. |
Currently, I'm working on adding maiden names to as many memorials as possible.
As of 22 Aug 2009 Jackson Co FAG volunteers have 66,501 burials recorded, by Jan 2010 72,323 burials and by Jan 2013 101,483 burials. Many of the cemeteries have been completed with pics.
Please request edits, corrections & transfers thru the SAC tab (edit tab on the memorial page) and not here on the home page. Remember to check the new "edit" tab on your own homepage to see the corrections/additions sent to you.
Thanks to all those FAGer's who have trusted me to take care of their memorials and have transferred their memorials over to me while they take a leave from findagrave.
Not sure why my email disappeared from the contact info: email@example.com

|Cherie_in_OC||OMG Thank You!!!|
Deb, I clicked send to let Linda know I asked for the transfers and two e-mails popped up in my box saying you'd already done it. WOW! Thank you so very much for that. We are working on getting the families connected and maybe sponsored. Your hard work and generosity will help us with that, Blessings to you!

Hello Again Ms. Hayes-Wolfe,
Thank you very much for the transfer of the Stephen S. Cornell memorial. I appreciate all of the hard work that you do!
|Elaine A||Saints Cornelius and Cyprian Parish Cemetery|
Deb, although it is not in Jackson County, I can see you have worked in this cemetery as well. There are currently 510 burials listed. Do you think this is pretty much completed? I live in the Upper Peninsula but will schedule a trip there this summer. I could not be sure from the photos but I thought it might be bigger than that.
Although I have several relatives listed there, I suspect that I may have more. I am specifically looking for James Cavender 1830-1897 and wife, Ellen Cavender 1832-1906. At least four of their 13 children are there including the daughter, Elizabeth, that Ellen lived with after James died.
Always searching for more!
I hope the new year brings good tidings to you and yours.
Thanks for all you do for Find A Grave

Thanks Deb for updating me on Ambrose's unmarked headstone. I didn't see it on his memorial. I appreciate you getting in touch with me.

Thank you for the photo - been looking for this for some time.
|J. Marklein||Ira D. Knapp page|
I know of at least two other pages on Findagrave that should be linked to Ira, but they're administered by two separate people. One is Imay Knapp Perkins, who was a daughter of Ira and his (first?) wife, Ada Raymond Knapp. Also, a listing for Iola E. Wilkes, whose full name is Iola Erma Knapp Thuston Wilkes. She was a daughter of Ira and Ada as well. They also had seven other children, one of whom was a twin to Melvin. Feel free to contact me if you'd like.
|Regine Brindle||Peter Lowe|
Thank You for taking the picture of Peter Lowe's grave and all the others! It really helps! Peter Lowe is my husband's ancestor. It took a long time before we found where he died. It is sweet to be able to link his stone to our tree.
|Gary Bonney||Charles John Bonney correction|
Thanks for the correction. I have edited his memorial and linked him to Ester Taylor. I was also able to add the taylor line to my tree.
Thank you very much for the transfer of the John Strieter memorial.
