Bio and Links
Bio Photo Because of fires, floods and loss, I started photographing all the markers in Jackson Co Michigan in Nov 2006. We've discovered the 1927 DAR WPA cemetery transcription project didn't have anyone actually walk any of the county cemeteries. They obtained the information from cemetery records, church records and neighbors. Fortunately for all of us this included records of those graves with no markers. Most of the early cemetery records have perished along with some of the cemeteries. Hopefully, we will be able to provide info for descendants of the early/current residents of Jackson County Michigan. By using census, marriage, death and local history information we try to make our entries as complete as possible. Email with info on your ancestors and we'll add them to any of our records. We'll be happy to help you in your search.

Currently, I'm working on adding maiden names to as many memorials as possible.

As of 22 Aug 2009 Jackson Co FAG volunteers have 66,501 burials recorded, by Jan 2010 72,323 burials and by Jan 2013 101,483 burials. Many of the cemeteries have been completed with pics.

Please request edits, corrections & transfers thru the SAC tab (edit tab on the memorial page) and not here on the home page. Remember to check the new "edit" tab on your own homepage to see the corrections/additions sent to you.

Thanks to all those FAGer's who have trusted me to take care of their memorials and have transferred their memorials over to me while they take a leave from findagrave.

Not sure why my email disappeared from the contact info: water@daenvironmental.com

Anson and Wealthy Baker
Thanks again Deb for clarifying that for me. Once in a while I've come across a situation where there has been no stone to find out there is also no burial - mis-recorded cemetery, So thanks for clearing it up for me.

Kathryn Hammett Gordon
father of Harriett Chalcroft
Deb, We really appreciate all the work you have put into linking the Ramsey family. Harriett Ramsey Chalcroft 43006595 is the daughter of John Ramsey 28968884 and not of John 28885112.
Easy mistake to make but can you correct it please? Thanks and thanks for all the work you have done.

Elwanda Treacher
Hi Deb
Thank you fro the info on Elwanda, I did all the connections and corrected her date of birth. I was looking for information on Guila but could not find any. I'm sure she would of been buried in Lester with the rest of her family members.

RE: Alanson Cogswell
Thanks, Deb. Yes, he lived in Napoleon with a daughter at the 1870 census, then with another daughter in Homer in the 1880 census. My wife is descended from the former daughter, Lydia Ann Cogswell Church. We are going in a couple of days to see the grave of Evaline Peek Cogswell, south of Kalamazoo. We are still trying to figure out how Alanson got to Crapo, up near Big Rapids, but we saw the stone. Best, Rod

Margaret Tenant
Thanks for letting me know that Margaret Tenant doesn't have a headstone to photograph. Her daughter, Betsey Moses Maxson, is also buried in the same cemetery, so that must mean she doesn't have a headstone either. Is there a burial list for this cemetery? I wondered if Margaret's husband Jonas might be buried there.

Charles Frederick Smith Sr
Memorial #112963275 Oakview Cemetery, Royal Oak--
You did a wonderful job describing my Great Grandfather's family. His son, Charles Frederick Smith, Jr was my grandfather and my mother was Myrtle May Smith-Frantz.--- I understand there are no grave markers at their graves.

Thanks again---great job with details.

Mary Clark Carpenter
Thank you for responding on the Wheaton question. Now I have a question on Mary Clark Carpenter's birth date. Her birth date is listed as 1794 on her memorial page and the death notice birth date on memorial page is 1793. The tombstone is hard to read. She is now added to my family tree and I'm not sure which date to use. Also her husband, Daniel Carpenter's memorial page shows he is married to the same Mary Clark Carpenter buried in Michigan, but buried in Indiana. Can you help me at all on the story of how he moved to Indiana? I can't find him in the 1860 Federal Census.
