Donald Ray Raney was born on 24 August 1933 in Wood Co., TX. He graduated from Mt. Vernon High School and attended SMU, graduating in 1957 with a BS in Civil Engineering. He is a Registered Professional Engineer and was employed by Lone Star Gas Co. in Dallas, TX for 42 years retiring as Director of Engineering in 1997. He served in the Air Force and AF Reserves for 28 years and retired as a Lt. Colonel, Civil Engineers, Sheppard AFB,in 1985.
