Hi, Mr. Renfro...

You list Seaman Kenneth DYKE among those killed in the FORRESTAL fire - but he wasn't. DYKE was lost overboard at 0315, 29 July; the fire started at 1052. His body was not recovered.

You can review various documents associated with DYKE's Coffelt Database record by calling him up from

It doesn't make any difference, of course, but I thought I'd set the record straight.

Best regards,
Ken Davis

Have to do a little bragging. My oldest granddaughter, Bonna Marie Herlocher 12 years old, sings with the Treble Choir of the Gwinnett Young Singers. Tonight they sang on stage with the Atlanta Synphony at the Christmas Concert. They did 3 solo songs 2 of which were conducted by the Atlanta Symphony Conductor. I'm a proud Nana tonight. Love, Nancy

James Travis Lowry
Mr. Renfro, from what I gathered you might be related to his wife, hence the reason I'm writing so maybe you can pass on a message. I'm looking back at descendants of Francis William Clark and wife Mary Polly McKinney. If my comparison is right, my great great grandfather Nicholas (Nixon A) Clark and Mr. Lowry's great great grandmother Mary Frances Clark were brother and sisters. His line - Mary to son John Thomas Turner to William Travis Turner - to his mother and mine Nicholas to Thomas Howard Clark to Clovis Mitchell Clark to my father. We have sketchy info on Francis and William and an even sketchier story of Nicholas who supposedly disappeared in the Civil War. If the family has any information on this line that started in NW AL/NE MS moving west to Oklahoma and Texas, please contact me. Thank you.

Col. Carrick White Heiskell
Hi! Would you please review your memorial for Col. Carrick White Heiskell (FindAGrave Memorial # 70150341) and remove it/merge the photo with the correct memorial for him (FindAGrave Memorial # 55432884) where he is actually interred in Elmwood Cemetery, MEMPHIS, Tennessee, not Elmwood Cemetery, JACKSON, Tennessee. Thank you so much for your attention to this! Cody Blue Miller

Hello, I am not happy with the photo I took of Stepen Hock head stone. The area is always shaded. I will try again when I up at the cemetary.

Thank you for this info. I had assumed they were brothers, but it's good to know for certain.

Yes, I have Phoebe Ann, b. 1849 (Named for her maternal g'mother, Phoebe Clemmons) marr. Milton T Westmoreland; Christopher, b. 1853, marr. Mary ___; Harvey J, b. 1854, marr. Nancy Peterson, (their children lived in Butler County, MO & are buried in cems. there); Mary A. Parke, b. 1856, marr. Robert Westmoreland; Jeremiah, b. 1858, marr. Fannie Monday.

I also have a Joseph S. but not sure he was a brother. I feel sure there must have been more, born between Phoebe & Christopher.

I have the spelling PARKE from deeds of property which Evaline FitzGerald Monday left when she died & a brother bought the others out. Plus, on Harvey J's death certificate, it's spelled Parke & the info was given by his son, John Hassel Parke. It is spelled PARK in some branches of the family, as well as Parks.

Were Robert Westmoreland & Milton brothers?

(P.S.) I am the one who set the markers on the graves, & appreciate the pics you posted. They were much better than mine.
