Bio

I live in Tahlequah, Cherokee County, Oklahoma.
I am Cherokee on my Mother's side and Danish/English on my Father's side, Knapp.
My fair skin and green eyes are obviously from the Knapp side.
The Knapp name was orginally Knop.
My Great Grandfather, Alma John Knapp change it over, but I don't know the reason why.
I understand the Knapp name is German, but Knop is Danish. The Knop's immigrated from Denmark to Utah as Mormon Pioneers.

My Cherokee side orginated from Corntassel, Tehee and Hammer. My Great Grandfather, Dennis Scott was about 1/2 - 3/4 Cherokee, his Father was John Wesley Scott, known as a Irish red-headed intruder who married his Cherokee bride, Jennie Corntassel. My Great Grandmother, Ellen Hammer was a full blood Cherokee. Dennis and Ellen are buried at Old Green Cemetery, Westville, Ok.

I am the secretary of the Corntassel Family Association and Old Green Cemetery Secretary. Once a year we have a family reunion and decorate the graves of our loved ones that past away recently and so long ago. Decoration is every 3rd Sunday in May..
Descendents of Old Corntassel and Susan Robbins travel from all over the United States to reunite and tell the old stories and make new ones.
