This is JoAnne Haws Hello, you messaged me about Mary N Wright Kent and her parents George and Elizabeth Wright. If they are relatives of yours I would be very happy to transfer her memorial over to you. Let me know and I will get it done, if not I will get them linked. Thanks, JoAnne Haws
Thank you for getting in touch with me concerning Adeline Kean(appears on her stone). My family doesn't know very much about the Kean side but I had added the info about Clary and Minton Jones to my tree some time back. My Dad was unsure if she(Adeline)was Temperance's mother or aunt, I would say mother. We don't even know when William Meggs and Temperance Kean Meggs died or where they are buried. Adeline and Elizabeth Meggs(Temperance youngest child) are buried beside each other in a small patch of trees on the Ross Farm in Anson County, not far from the Edwards Family Cemetery that I take care of. I have visited the site several time over the pasted few years.
I would be honored to see any information that you might share on the Kean/Keen family.
RE: james and esther renfrow what a happy reply! It prompts several questions and comments on my part. I have found several related memorials in Find A Grave of the Amaziah Smith family and have had fairly good response to my updates. I have summarized the family movements in Amaziah's memorial which I think were significantly affected by the Civil War to include his own service. I was delighted to read about the clarification on Esther's family background. In the family notes i received I see that Arrena Ford, Amaziah's wife, had a previous husband by the name of Hawkins (sic). I had strongly suspected a family connection between Arrena and Esther and was initially disappointed when I saw your memorial. Now am re-energized to fill in some of that detail. I'll have more to say later. on a tight time table here.
RE: Michigan Julia, It's true, we are in Michigan, born and raised in Dearborn -- now living in Flint. As we approach retirement we are still thinking we'll continue to live in Michigan. we actually do prefer the weather taken in all around the year and our daughters are not yet fully settled in their careers to be confident they won't move again. At first I presumed Find A Grave was New England oriented but later learned their are a lot of significant Mich connections in Find A Grave. Joe
james and esther renfrow Julia, i see you have found the Renfro cemetery in Lincoln county, TN memorializing James and Esther. My wife's mother's name was Easter Renfrow Smith, granddaughter of Amaziah Smith. Family story is that he while serving in the civil war was captured by the enemy, escaped and was aided in that escape by Easter Renfrow. Is that a story you are familiar with at all? I have been able to confirm by census records that the James Renfrow family and the Amaziah Smith family both lived in Lincoln county TN near Mulberry in the 1850s.
George Bledsoe Wright No, I'm descended from Bledsoe's brother, Larkin. I've added to Bledsoe's memorial the possibility that Benjamin may have been his son. Please let me know if you find anything else. If you're descended from Bledsoe yourself, I'll be glad to transfer him to you.
