I have been interested in genealogy for about nine years. I became interested when I found most of the research had already been done on my mother's side of the family going back for centuries. Until then, I had only speculated about my ancestry. I do some traveling with my job and as luck would have it, it is in an area where most of my relatives are buried (on Mom and Dad's side). When I am not too busy on the job I am out hanging out in cemeteries. It is so exciting to actually find the grave of some of the ancestors where I have only seen a name on paper. It validates their existence and a link to my heritage. I love to pass that along to someone else who may also be looking, but is just too far away. Famous ancestors in my tree are "Jack Daniels" 1st cousin 4 times removed as well as the Majors family "Tennessee Vols" and Robert Burns "the poet". |
After finding my family cemetery, I joined with other descendants to restore our ancestors final resting place. My GGGGrandfather James B. Gowen is a veteran of the War of 1812. This cemetery is on, what used to his land. He planted a cedar tree and asked when he passed away to be buried under this tree. Some 70 years later he was. See www.gowencemetery.com

|LaDana Riddle Knupp||Gardenhire Family|
Hello, I am trying to find further information about the Gardenhire family that married into the Cherokee tribe. James T. Gardenhire married a Sarah Pathkiller in 1844 and their daughter Sarah Elizabeth married a John Anderson Kimbrough in 1871 all in Hamleton county, Tennessee. Any information that you might be able to contribute would be greatly appreciated. LRK #47268008
|Andy Barber||Fairmount Cemetery|
Hi there. My name is Andy Barber. I hope you don't mind, but I have a slight correction needed for Fairmount Cemetery, which you created. The cemetery is actually located in Signal Mountain, Hamilton County, TN. I believe the location is currently listed as being in Fairmount, Hamilton County, TN. Thanks!

Hey are you related to the Roberts and/or Evans , because I'm not and I was hoping to transfer Earnest and Sarah (Roberts) Evans to the one who is related to them. I've also did some research on them by the way.

Hello! I saw where you added the picture of Oak Grove Cemetery in Tracy City, Tennessee. I was wondering if you could give me the directions to this.
