Bio Photo You have to kiss a lot of frogs before you get a prince.
It is so nice to know that we can share all of the photos we took of other families while looking for our own. It makes the time spent in our search seem to be not so wasted.
Hopefully, someone else can benefit from a place we have been even when we were kissing frogs. Big Grin!

RE: Tabitha Holloway
Hi Vicki,

If you look at the Memorial photos of husband and wife monuments, it appears both first names are misspelled. Tobitha = Tabitha. Olever = Oliver (the Oliver spelling appears on Tabitha's monument). The spelling "Tabitha and Oliver" appears on other Jasper Co, GA documents. I hope this helps.

Thanks for continuing to work with this family.

Indian Prairie Cemetery
This cemetery is close to Carlisle, IN. Just thought it might help those who are looking for a grave to know this. It's not near Bucktown. I grew up in Sullivan Co.,IN and have relatives buried at Indian Prairie.

Yes, I'm sorry, I did mean Loucinda's parents. I don't know where they lived in Alabama.

RE: Malissa R. Cureton Jones
I believe Malissa parents were Thomas S. and Nancy Pennington. Her siblings were June, Caroline, Thomas Sidney, Alonzo Charles and Benjamin Franklin. That is what I have found on

RE: Malissa R. Cureton Jones
Hi Vicki, I don't know a whole lot but here is what I have found. His name was William R Cureton. He was born in Alabama between 1835 and 1839. He and his brother James Lynn Cureton came to the Egypt, AR area with their families and a number of slaves in the early 1850s.They may have been the first settlers in the area known as Promised Land, AR, which I believe is the same as Egypt, AR. He died quite young, around the time the Civil War ended, trying to arrest a drunken man named Fry. If you google Reminiscences of Western Craighead County by J. R. Jones it gives a little information. If you find any further info I would appreciate you sharing it with me. I haven't been able to find his parents. I know his 2 sons died young. The 2 daughters, other than Malissa left the area and I haven't found anything on them either. Hope this helps.
