Bio Photo You have to kiss a lot of frogs before you get a prince.
It is so nice to know that we can share all of the photos we took of other families while looking for our own. It makes the time spent in our search seem to be not so wasted.
Hopefully, someone else can benefit from a place we have been even when we were kissing frogs. Big Grin!

I have enhanced that pic every way possible to try and read it. It is so worn, but this is the best possible I could make out and not sure it is totally correct.

A loving husband ? (maybe Darling Dad) ?? ??
A daughter joined ?? Buried here ??

Not sure when I will be back over there, but when I am, I will try to enhance it there and see if I can read it. I will for sure let you know.

Oops, almost forgot. I searched everywhere for a stone for Harvey and Robert and even looked thru all my pictures, but could not find one anywhere, so they must be unmarked.

You are very welcome. So glad I could help. That is always exciting to find any tiny link that might help and I know you were excited to find the family bible pages.

RE: Martha J Masten
Hi Vicki

I believe her maiden name was Monroe, and that she did marry someone named Masten or Maston. And according to some census, she had a few kids. Take a look at the 1910 census for Los Angeles, it states that this lady ( Elizabeth Tucker ) is a Daughter to Martha J Fryer. So I guess she had from what I believe to have seen so far, more than one child. Should I continue to research and link her up with her family's?
Did you see the photo on her memorial that I placed. We have actually two photos of her. One photo when my wife was given these pictures, I noticed someone had wrote on it , R.C.Fryer II wife, Martha.
Also, I need to tell you that I dought from what I've seen regarding R.C. Fryer death date may be wrong. The Pomona Library has a in their reference dept; News Papers from New York Times and Los Angeles and maybe Chicago. I'am not sure on that one, but I had checked this out years ago shows that he died on Dec 7, but if true. I would not change anything anyway. That would confuse things. He also had a will that I've seen, but it's under Deeds and Grants. R.C. Fryer also had a sister that lived in Pomona for a short time Tabitha Cunningham. I need to look into that for we have a photo of her daughter Georgia.

Edith S Hunter
Hello Vicki

I just look on the Web for her and you are right, she is the daughter of Howard A Hunter. The list has her as a date of birth, but it's her dead date. According to the 1900 census in this San Jose twp. She was living with her Aunt Mary ( Fryer ) Tufts and Uncle Alvin. She is listed as NIECE. Her date of birth is April 1886. Mystery over. I have looked at other relatives and never wondered that Mary would have taken in anyone. I have original photos of Mary and her brothers and sister. Mary grew up, I would say around 300 ft west from the gate at the street.

RE: Edith S. Hunter
Hi Vicki

I have tell you, that I have no idea as to Edith's parents are. I have the list of everyone in this cemetery as well. The Pomona Library gave me a copy some 30 years ago. And my wife and I were devastated as what has happened over the years to this Cemetery. We remembered when many of the headstones were still in place and a lot of ivy was growing around on the right side towards the hill side. ( Elephant Hill ). I took some pictures of the Fryers only. and we would drive by the Freeway (57 ) and wave at the cemetery. We now live in Cambria, to far away to wave.

I want to let you know that Edith S Hunter ! Memorial Number 23873361 is not the daughter in this Union. Howard's wife died in 1897 and he never married again.
