Renee C Trappe
Daily Herald requesting to use photo
J. Karl: : Hi, this is Renee Trappe, an editor with the Daily Herald newspaper outside Chicago (and an amateur genealogist). “Barney” Ross lived in Barrington, IL after the war, one of the towns we cover. It’s Barrington’s 150th anniversary and we’re doing stories on interesting people, places and things in Barrington over all those years. One of those is a short piece on George Henry Robertson “Barney” Ross, and I’d love to be able to use the PT109 photo you have posted on his FindAGrave site – the one with the four guys and JFK in the middle. (JFK came to Barrington near the end of his presidential campaign, basically because Barney was there). What I'm looking for is the original photo, and asking if you could email to me at rtrappe@dailyherald.com. We would credit you for supplying the photo, so if this is OK with you please also give me your name (or how you would like the photo credited. Thanks very much, Renee

Biancosino Grave.
I really appreciate your efforts to find this young mans grave. As you may know, his life was senselessly cut short in Savannah,Ga. A crime victim, along with Miss Emily Pickels.I hope his burial can be found .

Looking at the original cemetery memorial for Sarah 1866-1892(memorial# 71724481)at Oak Hill in DC, it looks as though Sarah is listed as Vera on the stone and records in Ferncliff.

It appears you have posted a DC on the wrong memorial. Can you confirm and remove.

Baxter B. Fite III
Pt 109 survivor George Ross
George Henry Robertson "Barney" Ross died on July 24, 1983 and his funeral was held at St. Lukes two days later. His ashes were buried in the Memorial Garden here at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Bathesda, Maryland. Could you add him to that cemetery?

Thanks, Baxter

RE: George
Not so odd to receive SACs or additional info from multiple volunteers for one cemetery -- shows how we watch and care about the memorials created for that cemetery, not such a bad thing! At any rate, we were able to determine that he's not buried where you thought he was and that there are discrepancies between dates/ages. I searched the LDS website for info on him, but came up empty, which is actually the strangest thing -- he had notoriety for awhile, given his connection to JFK, so strange that there's no documentation in SSDI or otherwise on his death/age.

Thanks.
