Bio and Links
Bio Photo Genealogy and graving, are two of my many hobbies. I'm also a history buff.

I started recording cemeteries over 8 years ago
-- that's history and genealogy all rolled up into one. Walking cemeteries is also another way to get some exercise. Since I'm former military, I try and get photos of military gravestones.

I also try and help people find their ancestors in portions of Beaver and Washington counties, Pennsylvania; East Liverpool, Ohio and Chester, West Virginia.

I'm one of those genealogy search angels. If you are at that proverbial brickwall with your genealogy research in Beaver County, Pa., Hancock County, WV and/or Columbiana County, Ohio, I'll be glad to try and help in your search.

I also put abbreviated obits on FindAGrave that I see in the newspaper. If you see any errors or want to add something to any of my submissions, please let me know. If you want to make corrections to a memorial, please use the edit button on the memorial. I'll be able to get to the memorial and edit it a lot quicker going thru findagrave's system.
I'm also more than glad to transfer memorials to family members. Please include your member number.
If you are going to email me, please include the memorial's link as well as your member number.
Please list FindAGrave and/or the name of the cemetery in the subject line so your email doesn't end up as Spam and possibly get deleted.

If you want to suggest changes to a memorial, please use the edit tab on the memorial.

Michael Garonzik
I have look for Michael Garonzik on two occasions in the Mikro Kodesh Beth Israel Cemetery. According to the cemetery records, he would be buried in section 3, row 5, lot 10. At this location there is a fallen stone face down so it is not possible to verify the identity. A caretaker could be hired to turn the stone over.

Allen S. Colbert Simms
Hello LF,

I'm writing a correction for Allen S Colbert #83016209. He is listed as a Simms but is not known to be related, although he is on a headstone with Olive Ellen Simms. In the 1940 census he is listed as being a lodger in her home. On his WWII registration she is listed as the person who would always know his address. On his death certificate it appears he may have died at her home and she is listed as the informant. It also list him as a widower and the son of William Colbert and Ann Sarver.

On the death Cert of Olive Simms she is listed as to have never married. I can only assume they were extremely close and he may have had no other family. I did no research to find his parents graves.

Thanks for all your work with Find-A-Grave. It seems you have listed many of my ancestors around the area.

RE: Lee Schoenthal
LOL! Too funny!

I do have both death certificates plus the names of their sisters, two of whom died in the Holocaust and two who made it out and settled in Pittsburgh. It would probably be easier to send the certificates by email, and I can't get the link to work on your FaGrave page. You can email me at

Thank you!!

RE: Lee Schoenthal
Wow, did you get out to the cemetery so quickly? Thank you SO much! Do I have your permission to use the photo on my blog when I write about Lee and Meyer?

Thank you again,

RE: Lee Schoenthal
Thank you. I am not sure he's buried there, but since he lived in Washington, PA, and his next of kin was only his brother, I would think that he is buried there.

Thanks again!

Meyer Schoenthal
Hi, I found your page for Meyer Schoenthal, buried at Beth Israel cemetery in Washington, PA. He was my cousin, and according to his death certificate, he died on January 10, 1960. The FindAGrave page says he died on January 11, 1957. I am wondering whether this is a different person or is it possible that the date of death is incorrect?

Meyer had a brother Lee who died on May 11, 1957, so I am wondering whether it's possible that you recorded the year of death for Meyer as 1957 by mistake. I assume both brothers are buried at Beth Israel and probably next to each other, so I can see how that might have happened.

If you have any other information, please let me know at or here on FindAGrave.

Thank you!
