I've been around genealogy and multimedia development for a long time. I've worked as a Creative Director and graphic designer for agencies and corporations for over 17 years creating print and electronic materials. And am an expert in making the most of today's social media tools.
On the genealogy side, I began researching my own family history following an 8th grade project and never stopped. I research and run a family history newsletter that goes out to over 70 family members each month along with a web site to share findings, documents and photos. In 2007 I was instrumental in the founding of the Hudson County Genealogical Society in New Jersey and am active on the society's board. I am webmaster for the group's popular public web site (nearly 20,000 visitors in 2009) as well as its private site serving over 180 members.
I live in northern New Jersey and spend a good deal of time researching my family's roots which come from Ireland, Austria, Germany, France and Canada and lived in the Hudson County area. I regularly visit Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in East Orange, NJ, Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City, NJ and Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Montclair, NJ doing family research and volunteer grave photos as well as work for my professional genealogy media services and research company Origins Genealogy Services.
Cleveland Calvary Request Just a friendly mid June reminder that we need plot info to fill your Cleveland Calvary request(s). We have less than 500 requests left but plot info for only 6% of those, having already filled the rest with plot info. We can't ask for plot info for more than 3 requests per week. Please call (216) 641-7575 and obtain plot info. We'd really appreciate it and will fill your request(s) soon after getting plot info. Thank you!
calvary You've put in request(s) at Calvary in Cleveland. Several of us are actively working to clear the more than 745 requests. With 400,000 burials and 300 acres, if you could please obtain plot information AND a plot map one of us will be more likely to be able to fill the request, as the office will only give out a little information to each person. The office phone number is (216) 641-7575. On my page I have the plot maps listed that we already have which is quite a few. If the burial is in one of those sections we don't need another map, just the plot info on the request.
You can try to tell them you'll be visiting when they're closed, etc. So far everyone who's called has been successful in having a map mailed, a few e-mailed. If you get one let me know and I'll give you my e-mail address. With thousands of graves per section a plot map would be VERY helpful. Without plot information it's basically impossible.
