Bio

Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.

It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.

Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.

Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.

I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

Author- Walter Butler Palmer

I have become acquainted with some wonderful people during my 17 + years of participating on this site. Unfortunately, I have also come across those few, with whom I would have preferred not to have ever encountered. The rudeness and lack of respect for other's contributions has led me to stop accepting messages. At 77 years of age, I would much rather do without the negativity and continue with the joy I derive from the research and preservation of memories through my Find A Grave endeavors. To those who also share this joy for the work, I thank you, and wish you the very best. I so wish contributors would review their pending edits.
