I started with genealogy after my grandfather passed away in 1996. I wanted to compile information for the rest of my family before it was lost. I wish that I had recorded the old family stories when he and my Uncle Joe were still alive. This has been my labor of love, dedicated to Bryan Milton DuBose, a person who loved family more than anything.
After the tragic loss of my parents, Addie and Mike Buttercase, I will continue in my mom's footsteps by keeping her love for genealogy alive.
RE: fallen Find-a-Gravers I've been expecting this to come. I'm glad it has. To me it signals you have moved passed where the pain is deep and stabbing and near unbearable and onto the while nearly constant, it is not so severe anymore. You can laugh without being ashamed, but you can cry without knowing it's coming. The memories will get better during this phase and you'll feel their love for you.
At least this has been my own journey. I know not as intense as my parents were spread out, but I lost in-laws at the same time.
Anyway, to get back to the point, of course. Just let me look those up and they'll be transferred ASAP.
Thanks for letting me be the one to keep them in my care for awhile.
I am the daughter of Neville Milton Allen, granddaughter of John Edward Allen and great granddaughter of James Washington Allen. I live in Ingleside, Texas.
I am doing research on dad's side of the family. Have found John Edward's grave at Robstown. The cemetery association has a grave site for Mary Jane Mayo Allen beside him. Is this correct or is she in the new cementry?
Also, do you have any information about James Washington?
A. H. "Horace" Phears CSA Service I am writing a history of Likens' 35th Texas Cavalry Regt and would like to know your source of information. I have 'fold3' and am aware the records of Likens' Regt were mixed with Brown's Regt so your ancestor appears on cards for Brown but my have actually served with many of the Washington County men in Likens' 35th (there were two different 35th TX Cavalrys)
My Condolences Sally, you and your mother have helped me so much in the last 2 years that when I saw that your mother had passed I was shocked. I was used to getting emails from her and I did not know why they stopped. You and all of your family are in my constant prayers.
I want you to know that I did this with the utmost respect for your parents and their family. If you would like any changes made to the memorials, please let me know. I can also transfer both of them to you. Just anything you want or need for me to do, please let me know.
I pray for you and your family to receive comfort and the fortitude to endure this time.
