We both love doing genealogy and spend several hours each month in the Genealogy library near where we live. I am disabled so getting out in the cemeteries is a bit difficult for me but during the nice days we try to fulfill requests the best we can. The family names we are currently working on are May, Nelson, Pohl, Kramme, Attaway, Stephens, Jensen, and Trivers.
Verlon Ewing Hello, I am doing research on Verlon Ewing for a book that I am writing. Specifically, I am interested in his military and musical life. I thought I would try contacting you since you created his memorial. Please let me know if are willing or able to help with my research and I will forward more information.
Rachel Myler memorial Cherie,I sent the following message to the email address listed in your page, but it came back as not a good address. I do hope you get this message. My email is email@example.com.
Cherie I am writing in connection with the photo you added to the memorial of Rachel Nelson Myler that included her grandson, Billie Thompson. I have been a friend to Billie Thompson for many years through a relationship connected to the First United Presbyterian Church here in Fayetteville. I was visiting Billie yesterday at the nursing home in Springdale where he lives, and we discussed his family again that included his Grandmother Rachel Myler, and that she was buried in the Evergreen Cemetery, where he will be buried. I found the memorial for Rachel Myler, and was elated to see the photo you added of her and the youthful Billie Thompson. I will take a photocopy of the memorial to Billie along with copies of the memorials of his Mom, Alice Thompson, that apparently died at the time of his birth, the husband of Rachel, James E. Myler, and her parents, Johnathan and Fliskey Nelson. Also, copies of the memorials of Mary Brougher, Billie's Aunt that raised him, and her husband, John, at the Fayetteville National Cemetery. I saw in your bio that the surname Nelson was one of your families. I guess the two questions I have would be are you related to Billie Thompson and where did you get the photo of him with Rachel Myler? I will be visiting Billie again soon, so I am anxious to show him the copies of the memorials and tell him about you. Jim Harter, Find A Grave# 47422024
RE: Vet who didn't make it back At last Saturday's O.G. Historical Society meeting I brought up your request and 2 ladies there think that there are pictures of Robert Clampitt, Lloyd Ewing and Walter Vern Perry at the O.G. Methodist Church. They were going to check it out and let me know. I hope they do because I've lost my note of who I talked with but am sure I can find out if I need to do so. What is the deadline for getting these pictures to the Odessan? If we're running out of time I might call the lady that's in charge of this project at the paper and talk with her. If we have plenty of time I'll wait a bit before proceeding.
RE: Robert Leland Clampitt I'm sorry but I don't have a picture of Robert. I found his mother's picture in an old Oak Grove HS yearbook. I'm going to the Oak Grove Historical Society mtg. a week from today and will take your note with me and see if anyone can fulfill the request. Do you have a list of people you're looking for?
This is a VERY large cemetery and they make all sorts of noises when I ask them for a location. They are much more accommodating to family members and descendants. It would help if you could get a section at the very least. It saves me from being on their doo-doo list!
