Bio and Links
Bio Photo Over the past several years, I've spent much of my free time researching multiple Crago, Craigo, Cragoe, Crego and Cregoe family trees, and you'll find a lot of information on FindaGrave about those family lines. I've also identified more than 600 of my direct paternal and maternal ancestors. I'm happy to share most of this information with other family researchers.

I've documented every known Crago and Craigo in America prior to 1900, and have lately begun to concentrate on the Crago's, Cragoe's and Cregoe's of Cornwall, England, Australia and New Zealand. I have extensive family files as a result of this search (i.e., more than 6000 different Crago's, Cragoe's, Crego's, Cregoe's and Craigo's).

As Project Administrator for DNA research on the various Crago/ Craigo/ Crego families tested at FTDNA, I can say with confidence that most of the family DNA patterns in America are now pretty well understood. Contact me for details of that DNA research, or check out the website below.

Finally, I've recently joined the Guild of One Name Studies (GOONS), based in England, in order to further the study of the Crago surname worldwide. Any Crago, Cragoe, Crego, Cregoe or Craigo in the World is encouraged to join these efforts.

NOTE!!  In July of 2011, about 5000 memorials created and/or managed by the late Dr. Adalbert Goertz were merged with the 1,000 or so I had created and/or managed prior to that. I very much regret that when FAG merged the two accounts, they removed the credit which should be properly given to Adalbert for all the work he did. I'll readily acknowledge that most of the work now credited to me was his doing. Visit his FAG memorial for more about Adalbert Goertz 69628876.

David & Mary Myerholts
Hi Tom,
May I have permission to copy your photo of my great grandparents' gravestone to my tree on Ancestry? I spent almost a day in the Woodville (Sandusky) Ohio Cemetery this fall photographing Myerholtz, Spada & Hurrelbrink stones, but somehow missed the very one I most wanted to find--Edwin David and Catharina Mary Spada Myerholts.
Thanks, Patti Owens

RE: Niedermeyer
Hi Tom,

Henry Niedermeier was my great grandfather. My grandmother was Frieda L. Niedermeier, daughter of Henry, who married William James Hartley in Ohio. They subsequently moved and settled in Bethesda, Maryland. I have some bio information to exchange.
I visited Woodville with my Uncle Jack in 1969, while my grandmother was visiting he sister Edna. We visited all the Niedermeiers while there and only wish I had been doing this research then. I didn't start until 1989. Let me know what I can provide you.

RE: Request for transfer
Hi Tom,

Thanks for your reply.

In good faith I send you my line.
Frederick Holler 1771-1845
George Holler 1817-1904
David Holler 1853-1944
George Alonzo Holler 1882-1964
George Frederick Holler 1906-1996
Richard Louis Holler 1934-
David Holler 1961-

Seeing that I'm managing most of the memorials at The Lower Miami Cemetery in Ohio, I'm also assuming that Janet's line is from Frederick Holler to Christian Holler (George Holler's brother)?
Christian's children are buried elsewhere.

Could you tell me Janet's lineage?

All the best,

David

Request for transfer
Hi Tom and Janet,

My name is David Holler and I'm the great, great, great, great grandson of Frederick Holler 1771-1845

Seeing that he's a direct descendant of mine, and I'm already managing his children's, children' etc. memorials as well, I'd like to make a formal request for the transfer of his memorial. Find A Grave Memorial# 17984762

If you're a direct relative, could you tell me in what relation?
If you need any other info, please let me know.
Happy Holidays.

Sincerely yours,

David Holler

Craig question
Dr. Crago: I have just discovered the wonderful work you have been doing on the Crago/Craig name and highly oompliment you on it. I descend from Reason Bartley Craig b. 1803 and his 2nd wife, Dorcas Gard who lived in Preble Co OH before moving west to Wayne Co IN. Reason was a Cooper, as his brother, Daniel, was. I have collected a lot on this family, and have narrowed down his father as either a Hugh or a John Craig in early Preble Co.and certainly would like to find more on the line. You have him as descending from a Hugh Craig - is there proof? Reason's son, Isaac Cornelius Craig, b. 1848 is my great grandfather and his brother immediately older and b. Jan 1846/7 was Francis Marion Craig. I see another man by the same name, b. 1877,listed in Fairmount Cemetery, Camden, Preble Co, as the son of Allen Craig and Mary E. Potts, whom I do not know. I suspect there is a family connection here because of the similarity of the name.
Will you contact me?
THANKS!
