Over the past several years, I've spent much of my free time researching multiple Crago, Craigo, Cragoe, Crego and Cregoe family trees, and you'll find a lot of information on FindaGrave about those family lines. I've also identified more than 600 of my direct paternal and maternal ancestors. I'm happy to share most of this information with other family researchers.|
I've tried to document every known Crago and Craigo in America prior to 1900, and have lately begun to concentrate on the Crago's, Cragoe's and Cregoe's of Cornwall, England, Australia and New Zealand. I have extensive family files as a result of this search (i.e., more than 6000 different Crago's, Cragoe's, Crego's, Cregoe's and Craigo's).
As Project Administrator for DNA research on the various Crago/ Craigo/ Crego families tested at FTDNA, I can say with confidence that most of the family DNA patterns in America are now pretty well understood. Contact me for details of that DNA research, or check out the website below.
Finally, I've recently joined the Guild of One Name Studies (GOONS), based in England, in order to further the study of the Crago surname worldwide. Any Crago, Cragoe, Crego, Cregoe or Craigo in the World is encouraged to join these efforts.
NOTE!!† In July of 2011, about 5000 memorials created and/or managed by the late Dr. Adalbert Goertz were merged with the 1,000 or so I had created and/or managed prior to that. I very much regret that when FAG merged the two accounts, they removed the credit which should be properly given to Adalbert for all the work he did. I'll readily acknowledge that most of the work now credited to me was his doing. Visit his FAG memorial for more about Adalbert Goertz 69628876.

Tom, Always a pleasure - there is another Evelyn Mabel in that grave. I don't see a memorial for her but if you add one I will upload the pics. Larry

If you want- this is my second cousin's grandmother's family.

Thanks for the thanks, but it was actually George Spadon who took the photos. I just took a photo of the cemetery gates.

Regarding your photo request for John Crago at Ballarat New Cemetery:
Online cemetery records for Ballarat Cemetery show 3 people named John Crago, neither of which died in 1886. One died in 1888 (there is already a photo for him), another in 1899 aged 5 weeks old, and the third in 1896 aged 66 years.
Do you have the correct date of death? Or do you think the cemetery records have him under a different name?
Tom - I am going up to Mt Barker tomorrow and will call into Blakiston and take the pics for you. Do you know that there are at least 8 GRAGO's buried in that Cemetery? Would ypou like pics of the others as well?. If I don't hear from you I will take them anyway. - Larry

Thanks for catching that! Appreciate it.. I moved the pic over.

I am in the process of going through the photo requests at the Royal Oak Burial Park, Victoria, BC, Canada. The above named person does not have a gravestone, I have spoken with the administration staff at the cemetery and they advise the cremated remains were scattered on the grounds only. Sorry no pic available.

|Judy||Hezekiah Cragoe memorial # 131221963.|
Greetings Tom Cragoe,
Your ancestors Hezekiah Cragoe & Jane Bunt were my 5th great grandparents. - Through daughter Elisabeth Cragoe (6 Oct 1754 in Braddock, Cornwall, England - May 1792 in Boconnoc, Cornwall, England) & her husband Richard Searle (1749
-1807 my 4th great grandparents). So you and I are distantly related through Hezekiah memorial # 131221963.
Elisabeth & Richardís son John Searle (Sep 1778 in Boconnoc, Cornwall, England, died about 1857-1861 in Cornwall, England) was my 3rd great grandfather. Johnís son William M. Searle was my 2nd great grandfather.
I have linked Elisabeth Cragoe Searle & Richard Searle to your Hezekiah Crago memorial Ė so if you go to Hezekiah you will be able to click on their names and work your way to through the Searles to my mother Kathryn Searle Haire.
I live in Wisconsin and was happy to see a familiar family name when I found your memorial for Hezekiah.
I donít have a church/cemetery for Elisabeth Cargoe Searle & Richard Searle or their son John Searle. Johnís son William M. Searle brought his family to Illinois in 1859, and then to Wisconsin soon after. He served Wiscosnin in our Civil war.
I have a wife for Roger Cragoe # 131221416 (Braddock 1662-1721) named Joan Ė no Surname, married Roger in Cornwall, 1688.
I have parents for Patience Gummow # 131220459 (born 1694 St. Austell to 1753 Braddock): - William Gummow & Mary Rogers.
I hope you will find this email interesting. Thank you for your Cragoe ancestor memorials and you time. Findagrave is such a wonderful resource.
