Hi, Wife of Claude (Grace Fowler) was my grandfather's sister and I was wondering how you knew that Claude died of strep? Thanks.

your welcome and if you would rather have the headstone without the sheley plaque in front I can edit the image. I thought I saw that last name on one of the requests so I assumed it was so close it was important.

Hi Ev - Thanks for entering this memorial. Minnie's maiden name is spelled Wortz. She was the daughter of George Wortz and Medora (Dora) Snyder who are buried in Mellenville Union Cemetery, Columbia county, NY. She was my wife's grand aunt. Please update when you get a chance. Thanks, Jim Croll

Thanks Ev...... finally back working on all this die of the family
|Bob Franklin||RE: Elizabeth Wolfe|
John Wolfe will be awhile. The cemetery is huge and there is no index or good location records.
|Jackie Myers||transfer request|
I think that some time ago, you requested I transfer the memorials for Arthur Deyo and his wife Marguerite (Rosendale Plains Cem). Although I set up the memorial for the two people on the reverse of this marker (which I did transfer to you), another contributor set up Arthur and Marguerite. She possibly missed the fact that there was an inscription on the reverse. Hence she manages their memorials, not I. So I am unable to transfer - you'd have to ask her.

The Clinton D Fowler (1863-1916) family in Kinderhook was devastated by the 1918 flu epidemic. From the Albany Evening Journal, 7 Nov 1918, Page 11:
Kinderhook, Nov 7 – Yesterday morning the remains of five members of one family were taken from the receiving vault and interred in Kinderhook Cemetery. They were all victims of influenza followed by pneumonia and all died within a week. They were Clinton H Fowler aged 31 years, who died October 16; Robert Fowler, infant son of Clinton, died October 20, aged two years; Rachel Fowler Powell, a sister, who also passed away October 20, aged years; William Powell, husband of Rachel, died October 23, aged 29 years, and William Fowler, a brother of Clinton, died October 23, aged 30 years. On October 22, Stephan Hotaling, […] a grand father of all the deceased, passed away at the age of 81 years. His remains were interred a couple of days later and he being a Civil war veteran members of the Grand Army post escorted the funeral to the cemetery, where fitting ceremonies were performed. At the services yesterday the Rev. Robert Turner of St. Barnabas church, Stottvile, had charge, assisted by the Rev. E. C. Vanderlaar [?] of the Reformed church, this village. The floral offerings were numerous and beautiful. Among them was a handsome set piece to Clinton H. Fowler and William Fowler from the members of Palmer Hose company; also a wreath sent by the Kinderhook band to Clinton H. Fowler. Members of the family acted as bearers. Mr. and Mrs. Powell of Stottville were among the mourners, and Harold Fowler, a brother, was present from the training school at Cornell university, Ithaca. Undertaker James H. Hayan had charge of the funeral.
(William Andrew Fowler left a daughter, Rachel A Fowler & William Powell left two sons.)
|Thomas Vought||RE: Arthur Stacey & Anna N Vought|
As to Anna N. Vought (my great aunt) & Arthur Stacey. I wish I could find them too. Anna b: 6 Aug 1889 died in Jul 1970, possibly in Philmont. Last trace of Arthur b: 15 Jun 1885, I have is the 1953 Hudson City directory. He was fire commissioner there in 1948, so I suspect he and she are buried in Hudson. Rickard index doesn't show them either. If you find a lead, and remeber this note, let me know! :-)
|Jo E||RE: Sutherland|
Hi, your more then welcome for the pics for Almira and Jacob Decker. I did find them on line and under the caption I gave credit to the person who had them listed. and thanks for thinking of me about the Sutherlands. I do not have them listed on ancestry although it is my best friend.(besides Find A Grave). I have a computer program on my computer though. I also have them listed on findagrave and she can check out my virtual cem for the Sutherlands. My Sutherlands came from both Ramapo, NJ and Rockland County. If your cousin's did also, I would love to hear from her. thanks.
