My wonderful grandmother, Maude (Wadsworth) Larson was the one who gave me the genealogy bug 10 years before her passing in 1986. I was lucky enough to get her genealogy work and some of her treasured photos, so I continued on where she left off. In her genealogy papers were obits from not only family but of friends and neighbors and I didn't know really what to do with some of them until I found FAG and knew thats where they belonged in hopes of helping others in their genealogy work, so some of my work here on FAG were obits my grandmother had saved for over 60 years and some of them contain so much information for a family member. |
I have always enjoyed wandering around in cemeteries and always found tombstones interesting and was very happy to find FAG and see that there are others like myself interested in graving.

Hey, Karla, hope life is treating you good!! I was going through some books in a box I got at an auction here in Avoca. There is a paperback book (missing the front cover) called "Hunting and Fishing Handbook" that is copyrighted 1944. It has a stamped and also handwritten name in front. Harry H. Schuemann, Avoca, Iowa. There is a hand-written page in the back "To Tann." I was going to put it in with papers to recycle, and then I thought of you. Any connection? any interest in it? Don't know where he might fit in . . . (I find a Harry H. Schuemann in the Avoca Cemetery index with dates of 1905-1978.) Condition of the 109-page book is not great, but let me know if you have any interest in it. (No charge if you want it.) Blessings, Barb
I uploaded a gravestone picture to a memorial page that you manage for John Grobmeier (22841565). I also created a page and uploaded a picture for another Grobmeier buried next to him (Viola - 126613752). I didn't know if this was someone that you're actively researching, but I thought I would leave you a note to let you know about these pictures just in case.

Look in the upper right corner. You should now see a tab called "Edits" - check there to see if any have been submitted to you.
Then just review and accept.
Way easier for doing updates to names / dates / places / plot #s.
You still will get e-mails to add info to bio section or do linking.

|Doris Christensen||JOHN WILLIAM DOONAN|
Just noticed that John is the only child of Thomas & Sarah Doonan that is not linked to his parents.
Would you please link them up so the family is complete?
Thomas Doonan - 55390130
Sarah Doonan - 55390242
One of their other sons, Clarence Doonan, was married to my husband's gt-aunt.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Thank you very much for the transfer : )
Just a note to thank you for the work you did in Daniels cemetery. I am finding a lot of information for my big family tree. I know how difficult it is to record a very old, neglected cemetery and I really appreciate what you have done.
