Twenty-five years ago a friend told me she had a new hobby, genealogy, and how much fun she was having. I immediately contacted my mother who informed me that we owned three family Bibles. I have been deep into this ever since. I started with my mother's family in Loudoun County, VA. Her parents were third cousins, a fact she did not know. Of course I added my father's family, my husband's family, and both my daughter-in-law's and son-in-law's families. Then by adding wives, mothers, sisters, brothers, ancestors, descendants, I have ended up with a database of about 37,000. All are related to me or to someone I am related to.
Most of my time has been spent in Loudoun County, Virginia. I wrote two books on Union Cemetery in Leesburg, a book on Monocacy Cemetery in Bealsville, Montgomery County, MD, Death Records of Fairfax County, VA, and co-authored books on the Death Records of Loudoun County, VA and Marriages after 1850 in Loudoun County, Va. I have also been involved in the preparation of Cemetery Books published by Thomas Balch Library. All of these books are available through Heritage Books.

I am more than happy to share any information I have. My cemetery pictures are there for anyone who needs them. They have been taken over the last 19 years. I will ask that you let me know if you are using a family picture because that means you are probably at least a cousin and I want to know you.

If you see errors, please let me know. Let's get all these people linked! But PLEASE everyone, use the Edit button on the memorial that needs changing! It takes about 2 minutes to make changes using that button. It can take 1/2 an hour or more to find the memorial you would like changed, if you don't use that button, and often I cannot be sure if I am looking at the correct person even then. In that case I may spend an hour or more looking. That takes away from someone else's time. Be fair!

My wife's mother was his sister. His wife was Sylvia Arbutus Longerbeam. I got herfather's name, Theodore J. from her birth record at and her mother's name from your photo of his stone and submitted the links to you via the edit, I mistakenly tried to make him his own spouse but corrected my error and also sbmitted his middle name to you. That is far as I plan to go into a family who are not related by blood, but will probably submit more Crim edits to you.

Betty, I think I misspelled her maiden name--I believe the correct spelling is DeBroske, and I believe her folks are also buried at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, also in Section 4--They are
Ursula (#141392935) and John M. F. Debroske (#141392956). I'm guessing, but am pretty sure I'm correct...if true, could you link Suzanne to them, please (I will submit an edit if we are sure she is their daughter). Thank you so much! Kathy

Betty, I'm pretty sure this is my high school classmate, Suzanne DeBroski, who married Elmer King in 1970; I recall she died shortly thereafter. Do you have any way to check? Kathy McCloud

Nancy Coury

Thank you very much for taking the photo of Nancy Coury's grave site. I had practically given up hope that this photo would be taken. She is my grand aunt, and my mother was named after her.

I appreciate all you do for Find A Grave. I am a volunteer with them also, and I know the efforts you have to make to take these photos.

Again, Thank yo very much.

Betty...not sure if findagrave did this or someone else, but the John O Elgin (husband of Martha Dorcas Haley)findagrave listing has been taken down. Not sure if it is related to confederate soldier thing or what.
