Bio

I have been researching my family for over thirty-five years. Most of my research is related to my maternal German ancestors who lived in the Five Points and Cumberland areas of Warren and Franklin Township in Marion County, Indiana. The research includes translating the old German records from Zion Church at Post Road and Troy Avenue, which my ancestors attended. These families were connected to a large degree with St John Lutheran and St John Cumberland Churches and lived in either the far east side of Warren Township or northern Franklin Township.

I had been active in the Franklin Township, Marion County Historical Society for several years and have documented those families using information from the Historical Society's vast collection of genealogical material. Some of the Franklin Township families were also connected to families in Hancock, Johnson or Shelby Counties.

I'm not a "numbers" person so I have no interest in creating thousands of what I consider to be junk memorials that contain limited information I found on a list or in a book somewhere. I think they're disrespectful to the deceased. All of my memorials have been researched through official records and/or by walking the cemeteries. I've also linked as many family members as possible and this is an on - going project.

There are some who contend that Find - A - Grave is not a genealogical website, but others would say that if someone comes to Find - A - Grave to find a family member it's a good bet they're working on their family tree. Either way you look at it, I've created my memorials in order to help people find their ancestors, fill in a blank, or link family members together. If you think I can be of help, please contact me at [email protected] and I'll be more than happy to see what I can find.
