Your tombstone stands among the rest;|
Neglected and alone
The name and the date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
So many years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

Thanks for editing this memorial.

You could call Mesa City Cemetery and ask...I'd do it myself, but I can see them asking if I'm a relative...boo:

Alvin Keno died December 4, 2004 in Quartzsite, La Paz, Arizona (or so his family thinks so may have actually been in CA as you said), so he might be in same cemetery, Mesa, where his wife Juanita is. Mesa has a "deceased by name" file, but I can't get it to open right now: http://www.mesacemetery.com/

I did see Alvin listed in the 1930 census (their name was spelled "Kino")...and also with a misspelled name in William's very short obituary. I'll try to find him for you.

Happy 2014, Nettie ~ I usually do at least a little research on the deceased I go looking for so did same for Mr. Keno. His grave was bought by his brother Elbert so I looked for Elbert as well and put up a memorial for him that I'll transfer to you if you like. And tried to determine their relationship to Charlotte Blevins Keno who is also in Sunset...thought perhaps she was the wife of either William or Elbert, but have not pinpointed her yet.
Congratulations on your grandbaby!
Thank you for posting the photo and creating a memorial for Julie Ann, she is my 2nd great-grandaunt (sister of my g-g-grandfather).
Without this memorial I would be stuck knowing she died in Carroll County before 1900.
I see her husband is also buried in Macklin Cemetery and I would like to manage their memorials.

Again, thank you so much for your gift of time.

I was able to turn the pics & crop enough to read everything. No need to go back. Thanks again, great to have the pictures. Judy

Thanks for the pictures. When I downloaded them they turned out perfect. So easy to read. Did you happen to take close ups of the other two headstones? Would love to have any from this family. Thanks for your time & effort to fulfill my request.

Thank you so very much for posting a memorial for John! And thank you for the additions and links. Although he was "with" his family in the cemetery, now he is truly back with them.
Thank you, also, for the work you do on find-a-grave.

Sorry for the dealy. You are most welcome, I'm happy to help.
As you know, Lookout has several unmarked graves. I am about to get my hands on a plot map from many years ago held by a family member of one of the homesteaders that lived nearby so many years ago. Keep an eye on the cemetery in about 3 weeks, hopefully we'll turn some unknowns into names.
My condolences to you on the loss of your Mother!
