I have been researching my family tree since 1999 and still have a long way to go, due to the fact that Irish information is so difficult to find. Due to kind people at ancestry.com and rootsweb mailing lists I have made a lot of progress and actually found I am descended from Pilgrims John Howland and Elizabeth Tilley. I have found so many ancestors in the NE in this time period it is amazing. One thing is certain, if you do genealogical work, you will always have plenty to do, and never be finished!!! It is a worthwhile way to spend your time though...making sure that your ancestors will be remembered on a grander scale than just their cemetery plots--they will be forever remembered by making sure people know they once walked this earth and the things that they did. I encourage everyone to put their trees on line and do a Find A Grave entry when you find them so that future generations can find these people. We would not be here without them and their sacrifices. With the increase in privacy concerns and cell phones over land lines, it is more important than ever that people be able to find their ancestors, as searching in the future will become more and more difficult. Enjoy finding all the information you can...it is one big puzzle, but after a while you begin to realize we all have huge families, and we can touch base with them through our trees. Help each other-that is the only way we will get everyone documented as they should be. Joyce
