Bio Photo Transfers?
Follow the guidelines.
(All the guidelines)

When requesting a transfer please state how you are related to the person you want transferred and don't just put 'family' or 'relative'. I do all kinds of transfers but I would like to know how you know that person.

Please don't use Public Messages to suggest a change; that is what the "edit" and "suggest a correction" is for. You can provide the memorial site to be changed.

Public Messages for changes might be overlooked for a while.

Frank Sterling #68975842
Hi there! I have noticed that you created a memorial for Frank Sterling #68975842 in 2011, Plot S-5, Mt Harmony Cemetery. This is a duplicate memorial of William Frances "Frank" Sterling #59646408 that was created in 2010, same Plot S-5 at Mt Harmony. Could you please delete your memorial so that we do not have duplicate memorial since it was created after the original? I so much appreciate this! Thanks again, Karen Stallings Winters

RE: Canadian County Records
I had another thought regarding the Canadian County records. You indicate that there was a fire in the 1950s that destroyed the sheriff's records. You didn't say if it was the sheriffs office that burned or the county offices that burned.

The sheriffs office is a county office. Even if they were housed outside the courthouse, the county would have a pay record since all county departments are paid through county funds. If the county records remained in tact, they should have pay records for his service.

Again, good luck in your search.

RE:Deputy-Canadian Co.1930-1935
Thank you for leaving my memorial.

You probably have already done all this with regard to your research on the deputy in Canadian County - you are correct, a lot of records were lost in fires. But I would check out the newspapers of the time for Canadian County (these are on file at the historical society in Oklahoma City).

Then check with the statewide Sheriff's Association - I don't know if they have records on deputies or not nor for that timeframe. It's worth a try.

Then check with the town library in El Reno. Most libraries have a genealogy section where they often save old items; ask them if there is a genealogy society/library other than the town library - often there is.

It takes a lot of reading, but what I found was that the appointment of deputies and big 'law enforcement busts' during that time frame often got in the newspapers and names were given - sometimes even photos. If your father is deceased, was there an obituary that might have mentioned it? When did he get married and where. If it was during that time frame maybe there was an announcement in the newspaper and it may have mentioned where he worked.

Last, if you use the historical society in OKC to read the old newspapers, while there check out the Canadian County books they have-one never know what is found on their book shelves.

Good luck in you search!

Lawrence Edward Booker
Buried in the Newburg Cemetery, Phelps Co. Mo.
Lawrence was married first to someone and I am working on finding that name. The last person he was married to was Nellie Jane Kelley Booker. They were married 7 Dec 1984. Nellie is also buried in the Newburg Cemetery as a Booker, NOT on Lawrence's stone. Maybe close, I don't know. So Lawrence had three marriages. His second's wife Grace Eva Creech Falkenrath is buried in the Roach Cemetery. Lawrence and Grace had a LOT of children together. Sheila

This is my great grandmother. If you have ANY info on her that would be great. Or could you put me in touch with someone who does? Her son, Dwight Pollett is my paternal grandfather. But I do mot know anything about her. Who her parents were, where she was born, who her husband was, etc.
Please help.
Thank you

FAG # 25793871 A.A. Bradford Civil War Veteran
May I use the monument photo that you contributed to the Find A Grave Memorial for A.A. Bradford, to post on the Vermont Civil War site? ( www.vermontcivilwar.org) He was a Native Son of Vermont, and I would love to see him recognized with many of his "old comrades"

You will receive credit for this.
Thank you for your consideration.

Find a Grave photos
I am writing a two-volume book on the 8th Indiana. I would like to include photos of the soldiers and their headstones with their biographies. I would like to use some of your photos in the book and will give you credit in the caption for each photo. If you are interested, I can let you know when the book is published. If it is ok to use your photos, could you also give me your first and last name for the captions?

Will - Thank you so much for posting this headstone (Johnson cemetery). Randy was a very good friend of my husbands and we were not able to attend his funeral. He will love being able to at least view his stone. Appreciate all the work that I know is involved in recording these cemeteries.

I hope you will allow me to use your photo in our family tree, where I will, of course, give you full recognition. Thank you again.
