My Beloved Dad
~~Greetings from the great state of Indiana~~
The online memorials I've created are my
kinfolk. It's taken many years to find the dates of death and burial places for some of these individuals. I welcome all corrections.

|Bruce Boyd||RE: William Fischer Boyd|
Thanks for the reply. I have similar problems with my Boyd line. Because of a Y-DNA match, I'm pretty sure my 2nd g-grandfather came from Hawkins County, TN, but because most of their records were burned during the Civil War, I have no proof of this connection. These Boyds came to TN from Virginia, so that may be where our connection is, but we may never know for sure. I'll just keep looking!

I see that you left flowers on the memorial for William Fischer Boyd (#29561398) back in 2009. I was wondering if you had a connection to William. He is my 1st cousin 1x removed and I am trying to find any living descendants of our common ancestor William F Boyd (b.1848 in McDonough County, IL, d. 1925 in St. Louis, MO). Any help would be appreciated.

You're welcome - my Black Friday was much better spent in cemeteries than in shopping centers! I also posted the same photo to his wife's memorial.

Dedication Honors Portage Township Pioneers
NW Indiana: Brendan Clancy, Portage Township Trustee, invites the public to a Dedication Ceremony in honor of some of Portage Township’s earliest settlers on Thursday, October 30th, 2014 at McCool Cemetery (2700 McCool Road, Portage IN 46368) at 3p.
A beautiful, new memorial has recently been erected at McCool Cemetery to remember those first settlers who are buried at James Shrock Cemetery which was established in 1836 and is located alongside the present day Indiana Toll Road.
The James Shrock Cemetery nearly became obliterated and removed when the Indiana Toll Road was constructed. The original survey plans for the toll road had the roadbed going through the cemetery, however, protests from a local Chesterton resident blocked the obliteration and saved the old cemetery.
Through the years the James Shrock Cemetery has been the recipient of vandalism and mistreatment, leaving many of the head stones broken and missing. Portage Township Cemetery staff have worked to piece the puzzle of broken head stones back together, gather data of pioneers buried at the old cemetery, and have erected a new monument at McCool Cemetery so these early pioneers will not be forgotten.
Join the Portage Township Trustee’s office as they dedicate and pay tribute to some of Portage Township’s earliest settlers. For more information contact McCool Cemetery at 219-763-2717 or firstname.lastname@example.org.

We will be cleaning the James/Schrock gravestone fragments this Saturday at Mccool cemetery to be put around the memorial. We could use more help if you'd like to join us. Let me know.
Thanks for stopping to leave a Flower on my late Wife's memorial, J.J. :)

Hi JJ Coppinger,
I apologize for this long overdue reply. For the first time today, I finally enabled Messages on my Contributor Page. I was touched to see such an outpouring of compassion from you and other Find-a-grave family members. I thank you for your words of encouragement. I pray that the Lord will continue to strengthen you and use you to touch many hearts!
I want to add, I am sorry for the passing of your loves ones. If it is any consolation, remember that the love you shared is alive in you and recorded eternally in the history of time.
Thank you for providing your love and affection to Asia and others in my family!
