Please note: My husband passed away recently(July 22, 2014), so it may take me a little longer than usual to get to requests. My apologizes.|
I started doing genealogy many, many years ago. I became involved because both of my grandmothers were adopted. Most of my research is in the Northeast (Boston, New York and Philly).
I have been doing genealogical research for about 30 yrs. Names that I am researching are Bohman, Braun, Baur, Blind, Chevillat, Chieux, Crevoiserat, Duff, Fleury, Fox, Kauffman, Koelbel, Lachat,Luther, Lutz, Macker, Marx, Mewes, Saner, Sanner,Schaefer, Steiner, Sutter, Tschan, Walch, Warre, Weinhart, Horrigan, Kreger, Salzman, Wilensky and Schultz.
I am presently a member of NGS, NEHGS, NYG&B, FSGS, FGS Tampa and the Vice President of the Florida Genealogical Society, Tampa.
I have submitted cemetery records for Garden of Memories* in Tampa. These are from published books that FGS-Tampa, compiled in 1985. I have submitted vol. 3. I have taken over additional entries from these volumes, due to the death of Noreta Wells(#84883785).
I have now finished submitting Lake Lindsay Cemetery which is in Hernando County, Florida. I have also photographed all headstones in the Fort Taylor and McGeachy Cemeteries in Hernando County.
Additionally, I have submitted Spring Hill Cemetery in Hernando County. My sister, Julie, and I walked stone to stone copying the info and photographing the stones. This cemetery is being destroyed by local teenagers who use it as a hangout. We are now also working on what is left of the old confederate cemetery, in the same area.
Please contact me if you have any additional info, photos or corrections for any entry I have made and I will be happy to add them to the memorial. If you request a transfer please tell me how you are related -please use edit button on memorial and make sure you give your contributor number! Thank you.
I am willing to photograph headstones in Hernando,Citrus,Pasco, Sumter, Hillsborough and Pinellas counties. My dear husband, David, is willing to chauffeur me to these areas and help me find and photograph the gravesites.
NOTE: DS means double stone, TS means triple stone.
*NOTE: I will do photos at Garden of Memories, but PLEASE contact cemetery: (813) 626-3161 and request grave location. They will only give location to FAMILY member. UPDATE:(Oct 2012) It has been brought to my attention that Garden of Memories/Myrtle Hill are now telling family members that their families are not buried in the cemeteries in order not to give grave locations.

Hi, I am trying to fill a photo request for this couple. The memorial was originally set up by someone you have taken over for. I have contacted the cemetery and they only show that J. Monroe Kirkland bought a lot there. They show other people in the lots, not them. Do you know where the original info came from??? The cemetery is Lutz. The memorial number is 28350743. Thanks for any info.
Sorry about the loss of your husband.

The office of GOM also oversees Myrtle Hill Cemetery. They checked the deed records as well as the burial data. BUT, even though they say that Dollie and Herman Jahn are not there I am still not convinced, but it is a puzzler. 2 of Dollie's daughters are interred there and the office found their records.....just not Dollie and Herman. The cemetery is HUGE or I would have searched the entire place. Thank you for your help. Kathleen
Thank you for the transfer! I really appreciate it a lot!!

well then. I will just have to make a phone call to the cemetery. Obviously they do not realize that we cannot just hop onto a plane to go out there. Some of the workers of the cemeteries are being ridiculous. Do they not realize how valuable seeing the kin graves are to the families who are unable to visit them? I do not understand where they think money is involved with this at all. I had success here with that issue in Houston where an elderly woman in the office was being difficult and her supervisor finally allowed us in which was a blessing to the family that lived across country. Thanks
