Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was so pleased when I found the "Find a Grave" site, which has given the opportunity to list members of the Akin Family and their brief bios with burial locations. I wish to recognize the hard work of Lois Akin Schultz, Daphne M. Brownell, Robert Lawrence Akin, Donna Wendt, and Karen Kelly for gathering, researching, photographing, and making available the majority of the information I used on the Akin memorials. My hope is that family members of persons I have recorded will feel free to contact me with missing information, corrections, and to add their own photographs to the memorials. If I have listed one of your family members and you wish to take over the page let me know.
Terry passed away on 2 May 2011 but I (Heidi)will continue to maintain his site and any request. Just use the edit tab on the memorial to send messages at his email address on file for any changes you want.

Find A Grave Memorial# 19226710
Found this article about this memorial. No relation just came across it in my research.

Article from the Abilene Daily Reflector, Abilene, Kansas, 14 June 1888 reads…

PARRICIDE

Baltimore, Maryland, June 13 - Peter Alt, proprietor of the Arlington House, near the Pimlico Race Track, was shot and almost instantly killed last night at nine o'clock by his son William, aged fifteen years. The shooting took place in the kitchen of the residence, and was the outcome of a family quarrel. Alt's wife says the shooting was done in her defense. Her husband had been on a spree for some time and just before the tragedy he came into the house, and after breaking a heavy cup and saucer on her head, began to call her hard names and to beat her. She struggled with him and they both fell on the floor. He got hold of her throat and she thought he meant to kill her. she is almost insensible when she heard the report of a gun. Her husband's grip on her throat relaxed, and he fell on the floor. Young Alt, who is a bright looking boy, was arrested and locked up, after an affectionate parting with his mother.

Vesta Stevens Case
Terry had created a site for Vesta Stevens Case who is buried at Woodlands Cem. in Washington Co. NY. Is there a connection with the Stevens family?
Vesta was in the possession of one or more Stevens family bibles and there is an effort to locate the bible if possible. Thanks, Donn Behl

RE: Harry Clifford Akin
I think I figured it out:
Go to the child and use the parent's FAGM# to suggest a link in that direction. The suggestion goes to the child's site manager who can make the link.

Judith Lynn Andrew
Hi Terry, I looking for an old classmate of mine, Judith Lynn Andrew. We graduated from Ottawa Hills High School in Grand Rapids, MI in 1967. I believe she is the daughter of Charles Edward and Jean Elizabeth Akin Andrew. From what I can tell she passed away in 2010. If you could confirm that this is the right Judith Andrew I would be most appreciative. also, do you know why her parents lived in Grand Rapids and for how long? Thanks, Phil Jackson

RE: Lee and opal akin
Well, thank you so much. I thought maybe Terry was related to them as he left his name on the page. I thought that meant something, but yes there is no way to know. Do you know any of his relatives? Is there a way to ask them if they know anything about Lee or Opal Akin. I do know they have a daughter named Pat. She is also dead. My Dad's name was Billy Mike Akin. My grandma Opal was a coca cola model, I do know that. My Grandpa Lee was into oil. Thank you for helping me. I have spent my whole life trying to find out something and to no avail.
I appreciate you replying to my other message, means so much to think someone is out there.
