Bio

I have been researching the history of my eight great grandparents with most emphasis on Hoffman & Davis (paternal) and Stine (maternal). The others are Chrisman & Stevens (paternal) and Little, Humbert & Flickinger (maternal).
I have been able to trace my mother's Stine family back to Johann Friedrich Stein 1752-1815, who came to America via New York City as a Hessian soldier in 1778. He quickly deserted and joined the Continental Army, settling in York, PA in 1783.
My first known Hoffman ancestor is Francis Hoofman 1759-1835 and first known Davis ancestor is William Davis 1781-1863, both of Chester Co., PA. I am still trying to learn when Francis came to America and figure out William Davis' parents (who were already in Chester Co.).
