Bio and Links
Bio Photo I got started in genealogy in 1996 after nearly losing 25 years of work by my parents in a fire. I am now a genealogy addict.

If I am able to help someone in their research, it gives me great joy. Although I currently live in northeast Oklahoma, I have done research in parts of west Texas as well. I hope someday to get all the records and pictures from my journeys online.

I owe so much to those who have provided their research and records online. Thank you.

Solomon Clay in Missouri
I saw your flower note on Solomon Clay and his wife Sarah Collins Clay about your relationship. Can you tell me anything about a brother of Solomon named James Clay? I believe the brothers were from Ohio, but not sure what county in Ohio. I cannot find a gravesite for James Clay. He may be buried in Lafayette Co Missouri. James was a younger brother, I believe.

RE: Cyrus Suiter
I just wondered if he was buried on the farm land. Especially, since I couldn't find a death certificate anywhere in Oklahoma. I surely appreciate all of your hard work.

RE: Cyrus Suiter
Hi Marcy:

I have discovered in records that I put away, that Mary Grason was buried in Dow City, Iowa and have sent a request for a picture of Robert and her grave. I also found that Robert was the Government appointed attorney for the Indian Reservation at Muskogee, Oklahoma while they lived in Boynton. Just an interesting item. Instead of using the town name of Boynton, this Grason family member uses Boyington. Is there any significance in that?
Thank you for your help in trying to locate Cyrus.

RE: Cyrus Suiter
Wow Marcy. Thank you so much for your search. Robert Emmet Grason came from Cerro Gordo, Illinois. He married Mamie (Mary) McCord. Mamie McCord was my great grandmother's sister. Robert helped my g grandparents: William Dudley Suiter and Nancy Jane McCord Suiter get established around Boynton. Wiliam farmed there so their might be some records. I don't know if he owned the land or Robert Grason owned the land. I know that two of their children were born there. Cyrus Suiter came to live with William and Nancy probably about 1904. I have a picture of them all standing in front of their home. I do know that Robert's name might have been Greyson, but family members wrote it Grason. The Grason family took Robert in so I don't know what his original surname would have been. He was abandoned by his parents and the Grasons were neighbors. I am not sure why the Grasons were in Oklahoma, but I think that is where they died. Thanks every so much for you help!

Cyrus Suiter
Thank you so much for looking for Cyrus. Recently, I requested an Oklahoma death certificate and they said that he was no where to be found. It's just strange. I really appreciate your help with this. I do know that an aunt and uncle (Mamie and Bob Grayson) lived there. I think that Bob was an attorney in the area and Mamie was a sister to my great grandmother. That's why my great grandparents moved to the Boynton area. Cyrus Suiter came to live with his son when he got old and died there. I am a family history addict too, so I know what you mean. I have been recording grave sites in a small country cemetery here in Iowa. It was overgrown and no one even knew it was there. What a gem and just up my alley!

You are welcome. I live in New Hampshire but go to Sheldon about four times a year. My mother is buried in that cemetery. I try to fulfill photo requests when I am there. Clarence and Charlotte are buried in the mausoleum, and I will post a picture of that when I find it!
