Bio Photo Can anyone assist with a Greek inscription in my profile photo? Thanks! I have a partial understanding of the name and the memorial is under Estergiane Bidra.

I generally enjoy courteous contacts with other contributors but lately have run into a bully. So after fending them off, I must reiterate that I do transfers under Findagrave guidelines. If you are not familiar with the guidelines look them up. If you are not a relative of the dear departed represented by a memorial--I am not likely to make a transfer.

RE: Grave #89146869
Thank you for your help. I am not sure where Mr. Mahony lived. The picture was taken at Moreno & Lopez photographic studio on 14th Street in NYC.

Did you have the Greek translated yet?

God Bless,

Dear Russ,

Yes, I mean descendants, not ancestors. Doing genealogy work, you usually work backwards. I do not know if we have the correct person in our picture who is buried in Mr. Mahony's grave. I tried to copy the picture and paste it here; but it does not work. I can send both the front and the back to you in an e-mail. It would be nice for the picture to be in a home who knows about him. The date is June 6, 1885. He is sitting in an upholstered chair, wearing a smoking jacket, and holding a book.

Have you gotten the Greek translated yet? I sent the link to my sister-in-law to share with her Greek in-laws; but they don't know the language. Next I sent it to my college aged daughter to see if some of her professors can help. My husband said that he will take a look at it too.

Thank you for your time in this matter.

God Bless,

Diana Connolly

Francis J. Wojciechowski
Hello. I see you have listed Father Wojciechowski's obituary. I think he may be my great grandfather. Would you happen to have a picture of him or any family history? Thank you.

Grave #89146869
Dear Russ C.,

We have a picture of an E. J. Mahony that was taken in NYC(after the Civil War, I think) and was wondering who he is and how he got into our family picture album. Please send me an e-mail at: and I can send you the picture. Then maybe you could please forward these photos to the ancestors that he has and see if he is related to them. I thank you in advance for the favor.

God Bless,

Diana Connolly
