Genealogy isn't really researching the dead but researching who set the roots for who you are today.|
Lord, help me dig into the past
And sift the sands of time,
That I might find the roots that made
This family tree of mine.
Lord, help me trace the ancient roads
On which my father's trod,
And led them through so many lands
To find our present sod.
Lord, help me find an ancient book
Or dusty manuscript,
That's safely hidden now away
In some forgotten crypt.
Lord, let it bridge the gap that haunts
My soul when I can't find,
The missing link between some name
That ends the same as mine.

Added vs Managed
Ive had others transfer memorials to me to manage as they wished to do it, not because I asked. Now that I have them, I am happy to manage them as most are related somehow.
A Bit About Me
I have enjoyed genealogy since 2000. Like to add any cousins to my tree. Like to help people and take pictures of all stones in any cemetery. A lot of the time I am not related to the person's stones that I post but if in Nelson, Washington, Casey or Marion Counties of KY - my children are probably realted.
We are the chosen. In each family, there is one who seems called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again, to tell the family story and to feel that somehow they know and approve. Doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts, but instead, breathing life into all who have gone before. We are the storytellers of the tribe.
PLEASE do not post a message below about linking, additions or transfers about a memorial I manage. Click the Edit tab on the memorial that you wish me to edit. Thank you :)

Thank you for your concern, Rhonda. You are quite correct to remind me of the ultimate goal I (blushing here) have prominently displayed on my very own contributor page. Thusly, for the sake of geophysical? accuracy, I have returned them to the other side of the road this morning though the family was not Catholic. But then neither was the cemetery way back then.
thx so much for catching that, I must have gotten tired of waiting for it to go thru the first time, many thx!

May I please use your photo in my family tree? I am having a wonderful day today researching many new distant cousins. Thank you for your response and the work you do on Find A Grave. JoAnn

|Kathy Phelan||Alice Abell Spalding|
Alice's daughter, Elnora Spalding, married by great uncle. I have never found Alice's husband, Clement Spalding (1854 - 1932). I thought he might be beside Alice. There is a chance he remarried since he had a household of children. Is there space beside Alice in Holy Name of Mary?
Rhonda, Thank You for adding the links for Jefferson mom and dad.

Dry Pond was orginally called Dalton cemetery many years ago and still called that by the older generation. I contacted a friend of mine that was also Margies Grandson and he confirmed that she was buried at Dry pond
