Genealogy isn't really researching the dead but researching who set the roots for who you are today.|
Lord, help me dig into the past
And sift the sands of time,
That I might find the roots that made
This family tree of mine.
Lord, help me trace the ancient roads
On which my father's trod,
And led them through so many lands
To find our present sod.
Lord, help me find an ancient book
Or dusty manuscript,
That's safely hidden now away
In some forgotten crypt.
Lord, let it bridge the gap that haunts
My soul when I can't find,
The missing link between some name
That ends the same as mine.

Added vs Managed
Ive had others transfer memorials to me to manage as they wished to do it, not because I asked. Now that I have them, I am happy to manage them as most are related somehow.
A Bit About Me
I have enjoyed genealogy since 2000. Like to add any cousins to my tree. Like to help people and take pictures of all stones in any cemetery. A lot of the time I am not related to the person's stones that I post but if in Nelson, Washington, Casey or Marion Counties of KY - my children are probably realted.
We are the chosen. In each family, there is one who seems called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again, to tell the family story and to feel that somehow they know and approve. Doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts, but instead, breathing life into all who have gone before. We are the storytellers of the tribe.
PLEASE do not post a message below about linking, additions or transfers about a memorial I manage. Click the Edit tab on the memorial that you wish me to edit. Thank you :)

|Virginia||Photo request Arlington Memorial Gardens|
If you would call the Arlington Memorial Gardens office #513-521-7003 and get the section and plot number, I will be glad to get the picture for you. You can ask for Pete Tunnat and he is willing to look it up.
It is such a large cemetery that without that it is almost impossible to find.

I am curious as to how you added this photo of this couple...this is my grandmother's brother and his wife and I have the original photo that I did add to both of these people's memorial and I have no idea how you would have gotten a copy. Could you please respond to my question

Sorry, but I do not in Kentucky, Made the pic when we were visiting several years ago. As for the chalk, it is my personal opinion that the inscription is more important than the rock on which it is inscribed. Were it not for the chalk YOU would not be able to read the inscription. Again, sorry that I cannot replace the pic. Shirley
Thanks for the transfer! I appreciate your kindness.
