|Bio and Links|
Documenting and photographing cemeteries are activities that many contributors to this site enjoy doing. Some of us do it to help others, others want to create a historical record, and for some it's simply the outdoor enjoyment that walking cemeteries can provide. These are all valid reasons. But at its core, this is just a hobby. |
I think that it's important to remember that every memorial represents somebody who was (and in many cases still is) loved and cherished by his/her family. And every family grieves the loss in its own way. Some are comforted by memorials and photos of the headstones of their loved ones, while others find such memorials or photos upsetting.
Likewise different families have different levels of comfort about how much family information they like to see on the internet, whether it's a matter of public record or not.
It is my belief that the wishes of a family should take precedence when dealing with a subject as sensitive as the final resting place of a family's loved one. And in creating these memorials I try to be respectful of every family and their wishes. And I would hope that other members would be equally considerate of my family.
I will gladly make out of guideline transfers if you are related to the person, and he/she is not also in my family tree.
