Bio

Dear Gravers,

I will transfer any of the memorials that I have created in The Church of England Cemetery, Burial Records of St. John New, Brunswick providing you can agree to leave the original source record in place. I prefer to transfer them in groups of families instead of one at a time and also in various spellings of the name. Please contact me if you have any questions.

In the interest of accuracy in genealogy and also due to time constraints, if you would like me to process any edits will you please send me your source. It must be available and verifiable. If you just say, for example, "Ancestry," that is not sufficient. I have spent hours attempting to verify edits. Sometimes they are easy to find and sometimes it takes me forever. In the future, if you send an edit with no source, I will make one exact attempt on ancestry.com to verify the information you send before declining. You are welcome to resubmit your edit with sources.

You can do this by leaving me a message in the "Suggest any other correction or addition" section of the edit page or in the bio section. When the edit is accepted, I will post it with your Find A Grave name and member number. Also, if you contact me and I need to write back to you but have no way to contact you, (i.e. you are not accepting any email or messages) I will end up declining the edit. Sorry.

After more than 20 years on FindAGrave, I have decided to omit my email address as a communication source. People have been excessive with it and abusive of it and with the new edit form they have, you are accessing it anyway. Just send me a note on the form.

Please be sure to follow the first suggestion that FG makes for a memorial transfer which is to ask yourself, "Do I really need this transfer or could I just submit a couple of edits and bring it up to date?" Remember that we work for free to supply accurate info and find the resting places of your family for not just you, but many others in the family. I do, however, welcome any additional information that you can provide.

A word to the stone cleaners out there: it is, in most places, illegal to clean a gravestone without the permission of the family or cemetery or both. If given the go-ahead, you can take a look online or take a course to find the proper way to accomplish this without doing damage to the stone. Do not show up with a container of lysol and a scrub brush. When and if you do proceed, do so with all the gentleness and respect you can muster up. Do the whole stone, not just the letters. You'll leave it looking much better than you found it. A tribute to the person's life.... and to your own.

Thanks very much and best of luck in your search .
