RE: Cassius Clay Brandenburg
Good Labor Day morning Mr. Evans,
Yes, Cassius Clay Brandenburg whose memorial was erected in Cottage Grove Cemetery in Bossier Ph., LA was the correct subject of my message. I never knew him, he was already away from home when my family moved to Benton in 1942, but as I said, his brother was my best friend until his death. "Deck", James Henry Brandenburg, talked of his brother and the manner of his disappearance on several occasions. Unless James Henry was mistaken, and I can't imagine it, his brother was lost off the coast of Alaska in a PBY.

Cassius Clay Brandenburg
Mr. Evans, as a personal friend of the brother of the subject and his family I have some questions about the statement that the subject was lost over Europe. The subject was in the Navy and was lost when the PBY Catalena in which he was a crew member went down in the north Pacific off the coast of Alaska. Its remains have never been found. The subject was not married and left no descendants. His parents, his sister and his brother are all now deceased. I was a pallbearer at the funeral of his brother. His brother's widow and her children live in the Houston, TX area.

August/Wilhemine Thies
I have grave stone images of August & his wife. They are my 2nd great grandparents. My third cousin took them. May I add them or would you prefer me to send them to you so you can add them?

RE: Florence Kaiper Hopping
Thanks Gary. I thought the site said I couldn't request adding her parents because you already had a pending request for that person, and of course I would swear her parents weren't listed. Either the site or my brain has a software bug. :) Thanks anyway and sorry to bother you!

George Franklin Shank, Locust Valley First Church of God Cemetery
Gary, George F. Shank is buried at Locust Valley Bible Church Cemetery, not Locust Valley First Church of God Cemetery. Louise Benas added his memorial, obituary, and a photo of the tombstone on Aug. 23, 2013. She doesn't show his middle name of Franklin, but the dates are almost identical. FYI.
