My surname is spelled "Hardamon"; however my ancestors left the old country and settled in Virginia and their name was recorded as ""Hardiman" in Virginia. My direct line went to Limestone County, Alabama. I have a direct cousin Linda Hardiman-Smith who has done a huge amount of research regarding the history of the Hardiman's in Limestone County, Alabama, and even back to the old country. From Limestone County, Alabama was my great grandfather Thomas Hardiman/Hardamon who settled in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana. My father Charlie Crawford "Red" Hardamon was born and raised in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana. I was my father's first born child, the first "Hardamon" born in Texas on May 25, 1947, Beaumont, Jefferson, Texas. I am a Texas girl through and through! My parents married in Texas and stayed in Texas most of our lifetime except for two-year stints in Morgan City and Gretna, Louisiana. My story, Charlotte Hardamon began on May 25, 1947, in Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, before my parents celebrated their first anniversary on June 1, 1947.
