I retired from Michigan State University Libraries in East Lansing to move to Charlotte, North Carolina, when my daughter was having her first child. I'm now a full-time grandmother and loving it.

I started doing genealogy seriously about 2000 and I'm hooked. I try to make genealogy field trips every year and usually take pictures of all the tombstones at the cemeteries I visit. My mother's family was from the Boyd/Carter/Elliott County area of Kentucky and my father's from Barren County, Kentucky.
