I live in Anderson County, TX. For the last five years, I have done volunteer work for the genealogy section of our local library. The library is developing a database of people buried in Anderson County. In the database, we have a gravestone photos, obituaries, death certificates (when available)for people buried here. It is a work in progress. It is an effort to make research simpler for people who come to our library to research family buried here. I have put much of my research on Find A Grave for the benefit of people who cannot come to Anderson County. Please feel free to email me with any photos or information that you have about people who are buried here. Unfortunately, I forget to look at my Public Messages very often so the quickest way to get in touch with me in by email.|
SECOND EMAIL ALERT: As far as I know, all of my computer problems are now solved. I just got my computer out of the shop and it seems to be working fine. My problems started in August, and I have had problems every since. Unfortunately,I have not been able to get online for over a month. They had to completely wipe the hard drive clean and install a new operating system, etc. If you have sent me a message lately, please be patient. I have scads of Find A Grave messages. If you want to, go ahead and resend your message. I am so sorry for the inconvience. Hopefully, we are good to go now.

Louise, We corresponded several years ago about the family of Amarintha Shoemake Walters. I was in Nacogdoches last Easter on a search for where Amarintha's father Elijah and his second wife Elizabeth Pitts Landrum are buried. I met with Jon and BJ Pitts who are well versed in the Pitts history in Nacogdoches County as the Pitts were early settlers to the area. Though there are no records I believe we were able to narrow it down to the Old Brister or Old Harmony Cemetery located in the Harmony Community in Nacogdoches County. The cemetery is about a mile from the old Shoemake homeplace and is in a wooded area in the middle of fields that are now used for growing watermelons. Though the cemetery used to be quite large there are only 4 headstones that remain standing with several more lying flat on the ground or stacked against trees. I understand there are many more that were broken and scattered and more yet that were carted off. We were unable to find a stone for Elijah or Elizabeth. "Family records" indicate that their son Ransom was also buried in this cemetery. I've added a memorial for them on findagrave. Had I known you lived in Anderson County I would certainly have contacted you. I have a substantial amount of info on Ancestry. If you are interested I will "invite" you to view my tree. Thank you for the work you do.

Louise, I have previously requested that you link Dick with his parents via the edits. (F) Johnnie Emmett McCrary (F/G # 43711214) (M) Effie Mae Burkhart McCrary (F/G # 43711215). If there is a problem, please contact me: email@example.com

You are in charge of the memorial page for Mary Carmel Killion on findagrave.com and I was wondering if you could assist me in correcting the information found on her memorial.
It has her parents listed as Goodwin and Jane (Tharp) Killion.
Mary Carmel Killion is my great great grandmother. Her parents were not Goodwin and Jane Killion, Goodwin and Jane were actually her grandparents.
Her father was Daniel Killion b. Abt. 1827 in Blount County, Alabama.
He married Sarah Elizabeth Nesbitt on March 9, 1848 in Nacogdoches County, Texas
He died before 1870 in Anderson County, Texas
Sarah Elizabeth (Nesbitt) Killion was born about 1828 in Blount County, Alabama and died after 1870 in Anderson County, Texas.
Goodwin Killion was born February 9, 1790 in what is now Lincoln County, North Carolina
He married Jane Tharp August 9, 1808 in Jefferson County, Tennessee
He died January 14, 1860 in Anderson County, Texas
His parents were William Killion and Mary Goodwin...his mother's maiden name being the origin of his first name.
Goodwin was their first born.
Can you please make the necessary corrections?
