Which one? There was no sign giving any information whatsoever about the cemetery, so I don't know who is in charge. I lhave lived in the neighborhood for over 25 years, and I have never once seen it open.

Personally it sounds like they are interested in this, for their community. Since this is no longer your community maybe they should raise the money for the project themselves.

no stones
I have had a few family members with no stones also, but I have only felt obligated to buy one. It was for my brother. He was my parent's first baby, and he died at 4 months old. I know that they didn't have any money at the time to buy him a stone, but they certainly did later, so I don't know why they didn't. And I didn't know this until I requested a photo for him on Find A Grave a few years back.

So why on earth does an historical society want you to purchase a stone?
