Been into genealogy since about 2000. Love cemeteries and am an occasional RV traveler.
I am a "no-dispositions-unknown" contributor. This means that not only will I not create Burials Unknown (except as permitted), I will not link memorials to BUs.
Concentrating my efforts now to Cowlitz and Lewis Counties. Currently (2010-2014) working on Winlock Cemetery, Winlock, WA: trying to decipher my last 100 photos of deteriorating stones. Little Falls Cemetery & Vader Catholic Cemetery, Vader, WA are done!!(9/2010)
2014: Continuing row-mowing work at Whittle&Hubbard Cemetery, Castle Rock, WA.
Also inputting cemetery records in IOWA from transcriptions published by members of the IA Genealogical Society.
=============================== From the Find A Grave FAQ's: "The copyright of all photos posted to Find A Grave remains with the original submitter. No use of photos for any other website or personal use is given without prior consent of the original submitter."
[NOTE: With attribution, MY photos may be used for your personal, not-for-profit use. Please enjoy them!]
Another note: I will gladly transfer memorials *within* the FindAGrave guidelines (see FAQs) only. I will be happy to add links and bio info for any memorial I manage (please use the 'Edit' tab and the 'Suggest-A-Correction SAC' feature); the recent spate of deletions, dupes, and widespread name-collecting of persons trying to build their family tree on this site is a misuse of the site's original intent.
RE: Hamersma photos Your welcome. Glad I was able to supply the pictures. The plot location was a good help in finding the grave.
I started with find-a-grave when looking for some family history and found it to be a great resource in locating ancestors with associated dates and spouses. Realized there is a lot of information out there like my own relatives in Crest Haven who are not documented (yet)and decided as a small "payment" I could add some information to this website. Thanks for all you have done.
Samuel Dorning, 1866-1941 Hi Marilyn - Help :) There are two memorials for Samuel Dorning, 70459557 (Fern Hill) and 141567418 (Winlock). Will have them merged once we know for sure which one he's at. I contacted the person with the original memorial last year. We've posted photo requests for both cemeteries. Have recently contacted a Gt-granddaughter of Samuel's, so hoping she might know.
Fern Hill transcript lists him and his wife, Sarah and indicates they both have headstones.
However, his obituary indicates he was buried at Winlock:
S. L. Dorning Dies WINLOCK, Sept.4 - The death of Samuel L. Dorning, 75, railroad section foreman and resident of Winlock 39 years, occurred Wednesday at his home on Route 2. He is survived by his wife, Helen; daughter, Mrs. Helen York, Ocosta, and four sons, Cecil Dorning, Ryderwood; Lee, Winlock; Roy, Centralia; and Lynn, Chehalis.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Cattermole chapel, followed by burial in the Winlock cemetery.
========= Unfortunately, I did'nt find an obit. for Sarah, but IF Samuel was buried at Winlock then his headstone could be among the last of your Winlock photos you were trying to decipher?? If you find anything, please let me know.

pic request Graceland Miami Hello, I have an old map of Graceland. The sections are not physically marked - but the map might help locate your relative. If you contact the office to obtain the section/lot - I might be able to help when I return there in the spring.
I would absolutely love to have a copy of Ann's will! I have very little information on her and I really appreciate the time you took to contact me. My email is newsladymdn at yahoo.com. Thank you so much!!!
