Bio and Links
Bio Photo Been into genealogy since about 2000. Love cemeteries and am an occasional RV traveler.

I am a "no-dispositions-unknown" contributor. This means that not only will I not create Burials Unknown (except as permitted), I will not link memorials to BUs.

Concentrating my efforts now to Cowlitz and Lewis Counties. Currently (2010-2014) working on Winlock Cemetery, Winlock, WA: trying to decipher my last 100 photos of deteriorating stones. Little Falls Cemetery & Vader Catholic Cemetery, Vader, WA are done!!(9/2010)

2014: Continuing row-mowing work at Whittle&Hubbard Cemetery, Castle Rock, WA.

Also inputting cemetery records in IOWA from transcriptions published by members of the IA Genealogical Society.

From the Find A Grave FAQ's: "The copyright of all photos posted to Find A Grave remains with the original submitter. No use of photos for any other website or personal use is given without prior consent of the original submitter."

[NOTE: With attribution, MY photos may be used for your personal, not-for-profit use. Please enjoy them!]

Another note: I will gladly transfer memorials *within* the FindAGrave guidelines (see FAQs) only. I will be happy to add links and bio info for any memorial I manage (please use the 'Edit' tab and the 'Suggest-A-Correction SAC' feature); the recent spate of deletions, dupes, and widespread name-collecting of persons trying to build their family tree on this site is a misuse of the site's original intent.

Thank you
Thank you for the transfers but you didn't have to do that. I just like having families reconnected with one another. If you would like for me to transfer back, I would be happy too!

I transferred Sgt Henry E. Silvius to you. Please take good care of him. He fought alongside my 3rd Great Grandfather in the 143rd PA Reg. during the Civil War.

RE: Daniel Benson Replogle etal
I have verified with Sunset Mausoleum's master file for the Replogles that Carl Sr.'s cremains were removed at the request of Carl Jr. and taken to Mountain View Cemetery to be placed in his wife's crypt.

RE: Daniel Benson Replogle etal
You are very welcome.

I was going to ask you about Carl. When I pulled the file card at Sunset Mausoleum, he was definitely listed as being placed on 11/21/1952 in the niche. It did not state that he had been removed. When I pulled up his memorial I see that he is at Mountain View. The photo shows a crypt. Do you know if he was placed at Sunset until his wife passed and then moved to Mountain View? or Was just his name and dates added to the crypt's face plate? I have found this to have happened in other instances.

RE: Another Posthumus
P.S. Here's a Frisian joke I heard long ago from another area of the Netherlands; the essence seemed so true of the Frisian personality as I know it: "If you have on Frisian, you have a pair of ice skates. If you have two Frisians, you have a church. If you have three Frisians, you have a schism." I visited the area some years ago and stayed on a family farm. We looked in the Dronrijp graveyard but found no one from back before my ancestors came over here. I asked the farmer's wife about that (with whom I still exchange Christmas cards) and she said, "Carol, we are a very small country, and I'm sorry to say that when no one comes to put flowers on ea grave anymore, we have to dig them up to make room for new arrivals." The best name I found on a headstone at that cemetery: Hilarius Posthumus. Here in Jersey, my Aunt Margaret Posthumus worked for many years as bookkeeper for a company that made coffins and vaults. Cheers!

RE: Another Posthumus
Thanks for your replies, Marilyn. My Posthumuses all came to Passaic NJ from Friesland, specifically Dronrijp, near Leeuwarden. Dad lived on Tulip St as a child, and said there was another Posthumus family on the same street, but they couldn't find any ancestral connection -- he said they might have come east from Michigan. I grew up in Passaic to age 11, then moved to Clifton and now Wayne. My grandparents lived at 101 Grant Street, down the hill from Passaic General Hospital, where many of us were born or died. Oddly enough, my uncle Ken Posthumus owned a Sunoco station on Rte 46 E in Great Notch, on the Clifton border (not near Cedar Lawn). How about that! (FYI: I had to call ancestry for help finding your tree; had to search for your user name, not the tree name.)

Another Posthumus
Just noticed that you have posted info on my Dad, Lawrence Posthumus, at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in New Jersey, on the site, and I thank you. Wondering if you and I are related. I'm a daughter of Lawrence. You can check out the family tree I created on if you're interested. Tree name is Posthumus/Laytham.
