Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been interested in family history and genealogy for over 30 years now and I am always finding something new. I have walked many cemeteries with my wonderful husband [he actually takes most of my pictures] and I will try and get organized to start adding pictures to this website. The main surnames that I research are Newman, Neighbor, Whitmore, Reed, Burnham, McGown, Mullen, Kennedy, Parsons, Barnard and Williams.
I do not live in the area where I grew up [Linn County, Iowa] but have many digital pictures from the cemeteries in that part of the country. If someone needs a picture from any of my surnames please write and if I have the picture I will be more than happy to share it with you.
At the present time my husband and I live in East Texas.

Onis Shields
I am the grand daughter of Onis Shields, born in Zenia, Kansas, married to Frona Shields. Onis is buried in McCune Cemetery in McCune, KS. His parentage is incorrect and I would love to send corrected info to you and an update - would that be ok?

RE: McCune Cem
Thanks Marian-

The Franklin families around Parsons and Labette County have been a mystery for so many years, so I was hoping you were related :)

No need to transfer the memorials. But I will be researching them and if I find out anything, I may have you add some info for me.

Thank you for all you do!

Sarah #34869415
Hi Marian-
I see Sarah has surname (Meanor) listed so married into the Franklin family. So no need to let me know about her unless you know who she married. Thank you!

McCune Cem
Hi Marian-

I am interested in the Franklin markers in the McCune Cem. Possibly all related to each other.

Susie- (34111093) - do we know parents? was this her married name?

Sarah - (34869415) - single?

Benjamin - (39492100) - son of Benj. I bleive

Malisea - dau of Benj and Melissa.

If you have any confirmation of these family members, I would be most appreciative to learn more.
Thank you!

Myrna Gowin Mayer
wrong spelling of Orman
Dr. O. G. Gowin should be Dr Orman Gile Gowin, not Ornan Gowin. I have a photo of Orman with his parents, Miner & Nancy, his brothers, Stephen (my great grandfather), Ellis & Arnest & his sisters, Nancy T. & Mary.
