Memorials added by this volunteer to Westmont Cemetery, also known as Potter's Field, Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio, are for the time period November, 1944 through December 5, 1991 only. No Interments took place after 1991. Land for this cemetery was surveyed in October, 1944 for interments of the indigent and the unclaimed. It is now an inactive cemetery. It is open to the public one day each year-Memorial Day. Because graves are unmarked, city employees are present that day to assist the visiting public in locating final resting places of loved ones.

As a common courtesy to all Find A Grave members: Please check before you add a memorial to make certain another individual hasn't already added it. If there is already a memorial for the deceased, request a transfer of that memorial to yourself so you can 'manage' it. (Or own it, if you prefer to think of it that way.)

For those of you adding memorials to Fogartyville Cemetery, Manatee County, Florida, as a result of finding an obituary that states the deceased was interred in Adams Fogartyville Cemetery (no such modern day named cemetery), the memorial should instead be added to Adams Rogers Cemetery. Fogartyville Cemetery is a private cemetery and Adams Rogers Cemetery is administered by the county. Landwise, they are adjacent to each other, separated by a chainlink fence. Westside Funeral Home is one of the primary funeral homes that in the past listed Adams Fogartyville Cemetery as a final resting place. In 2012 I noticed Westside Funeral Home for the most part stopped referencing Adams Fogartyville Cemetery in their newspaper obituaries.
