Bio and Links
Bio Photo Hello.

My darling friend and father just died. Please be patient - I will be back to make the necessary changes to my memorials.

I am in Michigan. I am not related to 99.999% of my entries, but have added them with the hope that other researchers who have come to a dead end may be helped. With respect to those entries, I have no other information available as I have tried to include as much info as I have.

Please do not be offended, but for a number of reasons, including the volume of requests, I transfer memorials in accordance with Find A Grave's published guidelines. If you request a transfer, please be sure to include your relationship to the person who is the subject of the memorial. I cannot respond to transfer requests for all memorials with the same surname in a cemetery or to requests for a large number of memorials with the same surname.

If there are entries which need to be linked, please send the info to me via the correction/EDIT option or Suggest a Change (SAC) in the upper right corner and I will add the links. Also, if you would like me to add information to a memorial, please forward the relevant info via the SAC option for the quickest response.

If there is information in a memorial concerning a living person which you would like removed, please send me a request via the SAC option.

PLEASE DO NOT send transfer requests, relationship links or additional information for memorials via the public messages option. I do not make changes sent to my profile page. PLEASE USE THE EDIT TAB LOCATED IN THE UPPER RIGHT CORNER OF THE MEMORIAL.

OBITUARIES: Find A Grave has updated its policy concerning the use of obituaries in memorials (See: "Can I add an obituary to my interment listing?" under the Frequently Asked Questions section). If you send a request asking that an obituary be added, please be sure to confirm in your message that you have complied with the policy or I will not be able to add it.

Generally, I do not link to unknown burials.

Many thanks for the kind notes, thank yous, flowers and tokens which are left on the memorials. It is rewarding to know that my work has helped someone.

Thank you.

Norman Ruter
Feb. 4, 1940
Wayne County
Michigan, USA
Death: May 29, 2013
Gratiot County
Michigan, USA

Norman, 73, of Wheeler, lost his battle with cancer Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Prestige Centre Adult Foster Care in Mt. Pleasant. Norm was the son of Ernst and Mary (Rye) Ruter.

He worked for the Iron Workers Union and helped build Rose Arena, and numerous other buildings at CMU, and the Zilwaukee Bridge, among other projects throughout Michigan. In later years, a hobby grew into Ruter's Berry Farm, which supplied the central Michigan area with delicious strawberries and asparagus for several years.

Norm always enjoyed meeting with friends and solving the world's problems one cup of coffee at a time, at Petticoat Junction and Smitty's.

He is survived by three children Connie (Scott) Marshall of Vestaburg, Lars (Stacy) Ruter of Ada, Lance (Paula) Ruter of Mt. Pleasant and grandchildren Anna and Larsen.

Norm was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Harry.

Funeral Services were held Friday, June 7, 2013 at the Lux and Whiting Funeral Chapel, Breckenridge.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Great Lakes Caring Hospice or Camp Cutler.

How can John Nolen be the son of Margaret... when he was born in 1804 and she wasn't born until 1937?

Thank you for the addition of their grave plot information at Oakhurst Cemetery. Hoping to make it as easy as possible for someone to claim my grave photo requests.
