|Bio and Links|
I am in Michigan. I am not related to 99.999% of my entries, but have added them with the hope that other researchers who have come to a dead end may be helped. With respect to those entries, I have no other information available as I have tried to include as much info as I have.
PROCEDURES FOR LINKS, ADDING OR CHANGING INFO, TRANSFERS:
Please do not be offended, but for a number of reasons, including the volume of requests, I transfer memorials in accordance with Find A Grave's published guidelines. If you request a transfer, please be sure to include your relationship to the person who is the subject of the memorial. I cannot respond to transfer requests for all memorials with the same surname in a cemetery or to requests for a large number of memorials with the same surname.
If there are entries which need to be linked, please send the info to me via the correction/EDIT option or Suggest a Change (SAC) in the upper right corner and I will add the links. Also, if you would like me to add information to a memorial, please forward the relevant info via the SAC option for the quickest response.
If there is information in a memorial concerning a living person which you would like removed, please send me a request via the SAC option.
PLEASE DO NOT send transfer requests, relationship links or additional information for memorials via the public messages option. I do not make changes sent to my profile page. PLEASE USE THE EDIT TAB LOCATED IN THE UPPER RIGHT CORNER OF THE MEMORIAL.
OBITUARIES: Find A Grave has updated its policy concerning the use of obituaries in memorials (See: "Can I add an obituary to my interment listing?" under the Frequently Asked Questions section). If you send a request asking that an obituary be added, please be sure to confirm in your message that you have complied with the policy or I will not be able to add it.
Generally, I do not link to unknown burials. Nor do I add raw US Census or similar records, preferring instead to add information in sentences.
Many thanks for the kind notes, thank yous, flowers and tokens which are left on the memorials. It is rewarding to know that my work has helped someone.

|Steven Wiezbicki||Priv. Oliver Bressett, Co. C, 142d N.Y., and Co. K, 169th N.Y.|
I've been alerted about 2 new photographs of the headstone and G.A.R. marker on the memorial you are managing for Oliver Bressett. The images were posted on April 2, 2016 (Find A Grave Memorial# 37161703).
I've also been informed that the photographer used sandpaper to scour the surface to highlight the letters on the headstone. The metal G.A.R. marker also appears to have been sanded.
Below is an extract from "Best Practice Recommendations for Cleaning Government Issued Headstones" by the National Park Service:
"Donít remove the original surface: The original surface may be polished and smooth. The inscriptions are generally carved into the headstone. If the original surface is altered, the way the headstone subsequently weathers may be changed. As the surface roughens, it will soil more easily. The inscriptions can be eroded away, making the headstone harder to read. Never aggressively scrub the surface, or use wire brushes or mechanical methods such as sanders or grinders to clean the surface."
As I understand it, "R.N." has sanded headstones in 20 cemeteries in a 5-county area of Michigan. I request that you remove the photographs posted by "R.N.," in an effort to discourage him from damaging more headstones.

Thank you for the transfer of this memorial.
I uploaded the gravestone picture to Norman Hulla's page. I do have a picture for the gravestone for an Amelia C. Hulla, May 5, 1905 - March 11, 1987, but I didn't see a memorial page for her. I will be happy to upload that picture, if you want to set up a page for her.

Susanna Cowley (memorial #122460002) and George Cowley (memorial #122459925) were my great, great, great grandparents. Would it be possible to transfer their memorials to me? Thank you.

John L. Briggs (# 48829337) and Catherine L. Briggs (# 48829355) are my great, great grandparents. Their son, Benjamin, is my great-grandfather. Would you kindly consider transferring John and Catherine to me, as well as their sons John W. (#48829386) and James W. (#48829420). I appreciate this very much. Thank you.
